Soldiers Sentenced for Bathroom Beat Down
|Is it just me or did these guys get off really light:
A U.S. soldier was sentenced Tuesday to eight months in prison for assaulting a South Korean taxi driver without any specific reason, Yonhap News Agency reported.
"The accused people were sentenced to jail term because they assaulted the victim without any specific reason and caused serious damage," Judge Han Yang-seok of the Seoul Central District Court said.
The judge, however, suspended the jail term for the soldier, identified only by the initial of his surname B, for two years, saying he had compensated the driver and that the U.S. military demoted the soldier and cut his pay.
The private first class belongs to the honor guard unit of the Eighth U.S. Army.
A U.S. army private who was also involved in the assault was ordered to pay a fine of 2 million won ($2,164).
No jail terms for these two and really their fines aren’t all that steep either considering the brutal attack they launched on the cab driver in an Itaewon bathroom last year for no reason.Â
Any word on what the Army will do to them?
Funny… 4 soldiers from that unit tried to start a fight with me about the same time last year.
Repeat after me: "Yongsan is a nice place to be stationed. Stop beating up cab drivers".
They definitely got off easy.

Since they are not going to jail, the Army could decide to keep them, but it will be up to their commander and whether or not this guy are high performers or not. Judiging by the nature of this assault which appeared quite brutal these two seem to be thugs.
Better to give them the free pass, rather then waste tax payer's money and make them stay in a luxury hotel with all the perks, and then hear all the bitching and moaning about 'human right' violations of innocent white american people. "Hey, why are Koreans unfairly putting them in jail but they don't anything about Korean criminals? Biased! Hypocrisy! Racism~!".
Tom, link to one article about a white american soldier bitching about human rights violations in the Korean prison in Choenan. You can't because they don't exist. I have been to the prison a number of times and no one bitched about human rights violations. You are just trolling as usual.
Tom you are still an ass. The US military is perfectly capable of giving them a real prison experience prior to discharge. I have a feeling you personally know what I mean.
