Taliban Phones and Taunts Soldiers’ Families

Just another example to remind everyone of the nature of the enemy we are facing:

TALIBAN extremists are reportedly phoning the families of troops fighting in Afghanistan and telling them their loved ones are dead.

The shocking news came as Taliban chiefs was revealed their ally, al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, is alive and well.

Afghan insurgents have been using mobile phone-hacking technology to extract phone numbers to target the families of British troops, The Sun newspaper in London reported today.

It is feared they may also target Australians, Americans and other Coalition allies.

It is amazing that some people in the US government want the US military to surrender to such people.

“It is amazing that some people in the US government want the US military to surrender to such people.”

Your logic is appalling. Disgusting, really. You’ve learned your Coulter-speak well.

You take a horrible story that has nothing to do with Democrats, and spin it into a slam on Democrats.

Nobody is talking about withdrawing from Afghanistan. The 3 leading Dem candidates have instead said we should have been concentrating on annihilating the Taliban all along instead of being in Iraq. So you’re talking out of your ass, here. Nobody wants to ‘surrender’ or leave Iraq. You’re just pretending it’s so. Try to get basic facts like this write before writing, huh?

Really, this is your comment on calls to leave Iraq, as we all understand. Never mind that the issue there is Sunni’s and Shia’s fighting each other in a semi-civil war to kill each other, and the Taliban are Islamic freaks wanting to kill all infidels, you equate the two countries.

Ok. So let me ask you – do you think national decisions should be made like this? “These guys are really murderous assholes, so we have to stay in Iraq.” ? How about national decisions being made on the basis of America’s best interests? The North Koreans and lots of others are murderous assholes, but we don’t attack them because for a whole constellation of reasons it is not in America’s best interests to do that.

As usual Hugh you provide nothing based on facts and instead rely on some rant that has nothing to do with the posting.

As I have made quite clear on this blog I believe in crushing the Taliban and not everyone agrees with that sentiment that I clearly provided a link that proves that assessment. Your rant about Iraq, Democrats, North Korea and anything else is just that a rant that is used to obscure what I posted.

Let provide a link to a presidential candidate that wants to surrender Afghanistan to the Taliban as well:

Do you want me to find more? Clearly some in the US government want to surrender Afghanistan to the Taliban and your childish rants cannot change that.

My comments got cut off for some reason.

Hugh’s response to that quote was full of red herrings, but nevertheless, your statement is an appeal to emotion. Our decision to remain in Afghanistan should not be influenced by mean-spirited Taliban psychological warfare tactics.
