Survey Shows that Korean Children are the Least Happy in the OECD

Anyone surprised by these results?

South Korean school children were the least happy among those in OECD countries, a recent survey showed.

In the latest survey, the subjective happiness index of South Korean children was 60.3 percent, which was the lowest among the OECD countries.  [Korea Herald]

Of course they aren’t happy…school all day, hakwon all night, mass presure to get in the right school…what isn’t there to be happy about?

It doesn’t surprise me at all.

OTOH, Korea also outproduces most of those other countries, in spite of having a nasty-faced, bad-tempered, smelly neighbor directly to the north… Europe is a tired old man with the attitude that little dark-skinned people should do all their work for a discount price and live in substandard housing…

We see how well that’s worked out for them. And in spite of that the major political parties seem to want to adopt the same policies…
