Lieutenant Colonel Claims Military Rules Do Not Apply to Gay Officers Due to Political Correctness

I hope there is more to this story that we don’t know about because there is no way this guy should be punished the way he is for enforcing appropriate dining out conduct:

The Army is moving to discharge a decorated combat pilot who intervened to stop two lesbian officers from showing what he considered inappropriate affection on the dance floor during a full-dress formal ball at Fort Drum, New York, in 2012.

Lt. Col. Christopher Downey, who was once assigned to the White House and completed tours in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, ended up being convicted administratively of assaulting a soldier trying to videotape the kissing and grabbing. Col. Downey’s attorney, Richard Thompson, says his client merely pushed down the camera to prevent photos and video that could end up on social media.

Mr. Thompson said Col. Downey’s commanding officer also convicted him of violating the directive that ended the ban on gays openly serving in the military.

“It’s political correctness run wild,” Mr. Thompson said. “Military rules do not apply to lesbian officers because of political correctness.” (Washington Times)

You can read more at the link, but to me it is amazing how many careers I have seen ruined by dining outs.

If you consider the full story, he needs to be kicked out of the military for his highly inappropriate and incorrect behavior that infringed upon the lives and the rights of other servicemembers.

What kind of faggot spoils the lesbian s3x show for everyone else?

When a little girl-on-girl breaks out on the dance floor, we need real leaders who are quick with the baby oil and whipped cream…

…and loudly lead the calls of, “Take. It. Off!” or “Eat dat snatch!”

…not neo-Quakers pushing their repressive moral values and wannabe-Luddites working to restrict the wonders of modern recording technology.

Of course, that being said, if they weren’t hot lipstick lesbians, I take it all back.

If they were a couple of fat, sour dykes with harry upper lips, give the man a promotion.

The story was written like 5hit. If this is about the conduct of the two females what’s this other crap about a camera?

First of chicken head, I have served honorably under Lt. Colonel Downey’s Command, and he is a paragon of an exemplary professional, both as a leader and a combat aviator. It is awfully audacious of you to make such accusations, when you most likely don’t have a first hand experience about the situation involved. I recommend that you refrain from your helter skelter remarks unless you know the details that surround his circumstance

Ryan, I assumed my satire was obvious…

…but perhaps not to you, as a new commenter.

Kindly allow me to explain.

While I love girl-on-girl as much as the next guy, public displays of affection (among any configuration of couple (or group)) has no place in uniform or at an official military function. An officer in charge has the duty to lead servicemembers away from this behavior.

Further, with streaming and cloud-based video technology, there is a good chance that shameful and outrageous behavior can get a global audience within hours…

…even more so when it involves uniformed girl-on-girl… as regardless of manufactured equality, that is classed as exceptional.

Again, it is the duty of an officer to protect the honor and reputation of the military as well as its people and assets.

On the surface, this seems like a great injustice done to an officer who acted no differently than if it had been a straight couple or one individual drunkenly dancing alone.

I suspect this officer did nothing wrong… and likely did everything right.

But the new Moral Military is very much against the exploitation of women… except by other women… so I will not hold my breath on things being made right.

Ryan, your thoughts on the situation would be welcome.

I was inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. I happened across his FB page, http://fb.com/christopher.a.downey , well, it speaks for it self. I know where his head is.

The answer is simple. Issue an executive order prohibiting mandafun.

Oh btw I’m still trying to understand how his delusion that BS rules aren’t being applied uniformly. The story while appearing to have been written by my 7 year old seems to identify the catalyst for the adverse action to be some sort of physical act regarding the LTC and someone else with a camera.

Oh and speaking of g4ys, nothing more g4y than losers who make up those stupid call-signs and fawn over each other like oiled up Spartans. G4ys look at you turds and say “pfft g4y”.

I might have got the wrong man. I’m think the link above is a different guy (Fartbongo’s fault, not mine).

Is this the same incident?

While dancing with her girlfriend, another officer in her unit, at the Cavalry Squadron Ball, Lucy’s Squadron Commander took her girlfriend aside and told her, “You [both] need to stop dancing; the unit does not need this kind of publicity.” When she asked what he meant, he said again, “You [both] need to get off the dance floor.”

Then, their Command Sergeant Major (CSM) approached Lucy and told her he knew what she was doing and that it was wrong. When she explained that she had no idea what he was talking about, he brought up the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy. Lucy explained:

I reminded him that DADT was repealed… He then lowered his voiced and said, “You’re a f***ing abomination, ma’am. You know what the f*** you did wrong and you’re a disgrace.” He stepped in closer to me within an inch of my face and told me to “have a good f***ing night, ma’am.” I told him I didn’t know why he was so angry and that I didn’t do anything wrong. He then told me to “get the f*** out of my face.” I remained calm from being absolutely stunned and confused by his behavior, and told him he was out of line; reminding him that I’m an officer he’s talking to. When his threats didn’t work and I didn’t move, he shoved me hard across the dance floor and told me to “have a good f***ing night, ma’am.”
While Lucy says that the Squadron Commander called her girlfriend the following day to apologize and let her know “that he accepts us as being gay and it in no way changes how he feels about us as officers,” she says he continued to assert that “the incident with my CSM and me was a misunderstanding and that I took it the wrong way.”

Since he was “convicted administratively”, which I assume means non-judicially, there won’t be any official accounts released of what happened. So we will have different versions of events for outsiders to pick from that will support their own preconceived notions of what happens in these types of incidents.

If it is the same story, Leon, it was the Sergeant Major who made the statement, not the Squadron commander. Did someone witness this guy “shoving her across the dancefloor” and “telling her to have a good f*king night”? Or do we only have her good word to go by?

Here is another article I think is a bit more informative:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/army-aviator-sues-forced-exit-lesbian-kissing-article-1.2011070

Apparently the lesbians were engaged in “prolonged french kissing on the dance floor”. Most likely, their behavior was actually designed to be an in-your-face-dare-you-to-stop-me-and-f*ck-you challenge to the commander. This part is especially telling:
“He was also convicted of assaulting a man who videotaped the women kissing and disrobing each other.

This is a really good link to a detailed, filed court complaint on the matter. Offers all the perspective needed to assess this situation:

Holy jebus that document is fill with so much fluff I almost fell asleep on it like a heavenly marsh mellow pillow of softness. 6 fookin pages just to get past all the self-masturbatory junk and into the “facts”.

The yet another reminder of how my fellow man-beasts are all childish idiots aside it seems the camera shove is the crux so I’m wondering where is the LTC’s lawyer coming up with the assertion that his client was lawful in pushing someone’s camera down? SOoooo…. I can just go around pushing people’s devices around just because I don’t like them using them in a certain manner?

Liz this offers only the LTC’s perspective and is chock full of silver-tongued 5hit.

I had written a whole bunch more concerning what I guessed happened but hey… f these guys. f the CW2, the SGM, and the LTC. If the CPT and 2LT were looking to make a scene f them too.

F em all. 🙂

F em all……but then who do you rule in favor of?

It sounds like they were screwing him over him pushing the camera (and incidentally the specialist) down, but then adding in the discrimination for effect when there was no discrimination.

He probably shouldn’t have touched someone else’s personal property, especially in a forceful manner.

What concerns me is the special interest groups trying to change the military from within. It’s been against regs to make out in uniform for a long time. Now that gays do it, it’s okay?

Go after the LTC for pushing the specialist down. If you wanna go after anyone for discrimination, go after the SGM for what he allegedly said to an officer so disrespectfully. If you do that, then you might as well go after the CPT (if she’s still in the service) and her LT girlfriend for violating codes of conduct in front of superiors but more importantly in front of junior enlisted. It appears they got away scot free.

That’s why it shouldn’t be surprising that discipline is breaking down at the junior ranks.

That general was trying to make an example out of this LTC. Gig him on the assault, but make sure everyone knows it was really because of the discrimination. Makes the general appear tough on people who won’t accept the new rules and appeases the special interest group. It is fairly obvious this LTC was railroaded to protect other people’s careers.

Too many things I wonder about is all this.

A captain and lieutenant in the same unit having a relationship. That’s not fraternization?

A CSM allegedly assaulting an officer. How is THAT story not the main story here?

I agree with you Ryan Campbell (Killer 08)!

That is his modus operandi and don’t bother reading his Wa Wonk Wa/Blah Blah Blah “explanation” because it’ll probably sound like this to you…

Tbone, girl-on-girl doesn’t do anything for you?

…or girls, in general, don’t do anything for you?

Your dating history is such a desolate wasteland of angst and desperation, I was starting to assume you were gay and I was looking in the wrong place.

Now, I understand you are just a loser…

…though it still may be determined you are a gay loser.

Tbone, even Teadrinker found a squat little toad of a woman who would marry him…

…but how does it feel to know you will spend the rest of your life alone?

Probably not so good… which partially explains your substance abuse.

Tbone, no matter what stupid things you write here or how many times you call some of the more intellegent contributors “sissy boys” and such, everybody can take great satisfaction that your life is its own self-created punishment for the geek-pride which makes you lazy, entitled, and confrontational.

So remember, no matter how insulting you try to be, everyone is just laughing at you.

…which is what everyone has pretty much done to you since elementary school.

And everybody is aware of that.

Here is the latest on the Lesbian Kiss-gate Scandal:

That whole Article 15 proceeding (as laid-out in the Army Times article) sounds like a kangaroo court…

JoeC
JoeC

“The women were kissing for minutes at a time and were taking each other’s dress-uniform jackets off during the dance, the lawsuit states. Informed of the activities by a warrant officer under his command, Downey hit the dance floor, asking the officers “to alter their behavior,” according to the suit.”

So did the comply with his request or not? Was this before or after he told people to stop filming?

“Downey also asked soldiers who were taking pictures and recording video of the incident to stop, fearing for possible repercussions for both the unit and the individuals on the dance floor, Thompson said.”

So the million dollar questions are what happened to the videos and why some or all of them not yet posted on YouTube? That could go a long way to settling who did what and when.
