Johnnyboy,
I think my dog gets lonely when I’m out of the house for any length of time. It would be equally productive for you to come over and talk to my dog… though the dog would likely appreciate it much, much more.
If you don’t need any actual feeling of accomplishment, you could come and talk to the wall, as well.

We can quibble over small things like you erroneously calling me out on being the first to bring up statistics in a thread, or we can have honest, cordial discussions about real issues. No name calling or personal attacks.
I much prefer the latter.
Believe it or not, I think most of the people here could engage you in productive discussions if you would only state your opinions without resorting to ad hominems and keep an open mind to other points of view.
I feel that I haven’t spoken to you in a way that warrants you accusing me of being dumb or homosexual. I’m a big boy and I can weather the insults. It’s just not how I prefer to carry on a conversation.
I finally figured out who Tom is, apparently he works at the Dongducheon City Mayor’s Office:
“If U.S. troops want to stay in Dongducheon, they should be of help to the local economy or all of them should go away,”
Koreans have no shame in regards to their selfishness and greed. The role of a military base is not to line Ajeoshi’s pockets with cash in return for 5hitty goods and services. The Mayor’s office might want to look into doing something about the “No Foreigners” signs dotted throughout the downtown area before running their Kimchee-stank mouths about no one spending money there.
The gunmen are still in the school, Pakistani commandos have the place surrounded. Taliban fighters have executed students, one at a time in front of their peers, and at least one teacher was doused in gasoline and burned alive.
500 students and teachers were inside the building when the attack began, unknown how many are still inside.
Denny, the guy spent three months in Iraq as a weatherman. I doubt that is what put him over the edge, but of course the news media is playing up like it is. Here is something else of interest from this incident, the value of a concealed carry:
Stone’s whereabouts also remained unknown. However, about 7 p.m., a man out walking his dog on Burpee Road in Doylestown was approached by a man who may have been Bradley Stone.
According to Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler, the suspect “accosted” the dogwalker, brandishing a knife and demanding that he hand over his car keys. The unidentified victim, who has a concealed-carry permit, pulled out a gun and fired at the attacker, who fled into nearby woods, Heckler said.
It was unclear if the shots struck the attacker, who also may have been bitten by the resident’s dog, Heckler said.
Investigators wouldn’t confirm whether the subject of their search was Stone, but considered it “a strong possibility,” due to “similarities” between the two men, Heckler said. (Philly.com)

As much as I’m not savoring another Bush from the dynasty, Jeb seems to be the less of a lot of evils who are currently being mentioned – on both sides. He’s not a dumb guy. He’s much more well spoken than his brother. If he can leave the buy-bull at home and represent ALL Americans, as Americans first and foremost, he’d at least have a chance for consideration me. Jeb Bush is bought and paid for by the usual suspects who have their personal interests and the interests of the multinationals far above the interests of America and its citizens.
Of course it is hard to use this against him because the competition also is bought and paid for by similar interests…
…just with different rationalizations for the same goals.
I can’t think of a single thing Jeb ever did that caught my attention in a good way… and on important issues from immigration to taxation, he is basically an anti-American Democrat.
At least Romney would have allowed GM to fail… which would have been good for America.
Too bad his magic underwear disqualifies him from office.
Note: this very shallow opinion can easily be changed with the introduction of facts… as both of the afore mentioned politicians are such nobodies that I haven’t really conducted due diligence in their backgrounds.
Somehow, it seems we will only get candidates that will flood America with cheap labor, will increase “entitlements” for those who cannot get work at a reasonable wage to support an American lifestyle, will hook up Wall Street and protect the Big Banks and Entrenched Big Business, etc.
There needs to be a none-of-the-above on the ballot… but of course that system would be quickly gamed with a string of crappy candidates to insure the president could continue on indefinitely as acting president.
Probably the best solution is for states to take back much of their power from the federal government so the office of president only affects necessary collective issues like foreign policy, military, etc.
States would then compete for business and citizens through good policies on economic stimulation, taxation, laws and law enforcement, education policy, environmentalism, etc.
Concerned citizens need to vote for strong local leaders and push this agenda.
It can work.

Finally starting to lift sanctions on Cuba. They haven’t been a threat to us since then end of the Cold War. They may actually be a useful partner to us with some of our regional interests. We should be developing the same relationship with them that we’ve been doing with Vietnam recently.
After we close that GITMO prison we might also open the gates at GITMO to the rest of the island. It will probably start turning out to be a great Navy/Marines assignment.
CH, I’m sure you would recall I have long advocated, right here on the Drop for the None Of The Above option. Other countries use it with varying degrees of success, depending on how it is implemented.
Something to consider:
In 1991 elections that led to the break-up of the Soviet Union, the Soviet version of “none of above” led to new elections with new candidates in 200 races of the 1,500-seat Congress of People’s Deputies.[4] More than 100 incumbents representing the Communist Party of the Soviet Union were defeated in the run-off, leading to Boris Yeltsin to later say the “none of the above” option “helped convince the people they had real power even in a rigged election, and [it] played a role in building true democracy.” (wiki)
So we Americans have less control over our candidates and process than the Soviets had… That is screwed up. It’s the only way (along with campaign finance restrictions) I see to defeat the well funded special interests candidates.
As I said, I am only sniffing around Jeb because of the way things are today. I would easily choose NOTA over any possible candidate I have seen so far.
I might speculate he has thought-out convictions and votes accordingly… though overwhelmingly in line with Democratic votes.
…unlike most of the politicians in all parties who seem to be more interested in donation-based voting and short-term political gain with seemingly no ideology except what is best for them and what will collect more money and consolidate more power.
I think I prefer someone who thinks and votes their convictions, even if I may disagree with some of them, rather than votes according to the highest bidder.

The Chickenhead/Snakeheads “we/us” Program is actually more of a preliminary convention tasked with investigating and formulating proper protocols and procedures on a more fundamental level to insure uniformity in transition interfacing.
This is reflected in its official title, “Chickenhead/Snakeheads “we/us” Initiative”.
To avoid confusion, please refer to it as such in future communication.
For purposes of simplicity, you may also use the official easy-to-remember abbreviation, CHSNWEUSIN.
This is pronounced c-hs-nw-eu-si-n with a soft C, “eu” spoken as individual letters, and “si” using the Korean convention of “shi”. The “n” can be pronounced as “n”, “in”, or “en”. Please consult our “Regional Guidelines Publication, Lunar Year 2014-2015” for the correct pronunciation for your area to insure full compliance.

I admit what we are disagreeing on is petty and largely inconsequential. I also said we can keep quibbling. I just prefer not to.
However, if you feel the need to keep calling me a liar, then I have no problem with re-posting the proof that you were wrong. Not only were you wrong, you were wrong very loudly.
The fact remains, I never said anything about statistics until you did. You tried to say I was the one who went off on a tangent with statistics when it was clearly you. It’s in the thread. It’s lunacy for you to try to deny it.

I wondered about this when I heard it because if I recall correctly, Humvees don’t meet emission standards and have to be granted exceptions under national defense legislation. Wonder if that has anything to do with not being street legal.
“When “us/we” failed to disagree we were “dumber” because of the sides taken on all matter makes “us/we” “dumber” in association with attacks referred to as “dumber” when spoken for “us/we” as being “dumber”.”
LOL. Wut? I feel dizzy…
BREAK
As much as I’m not savoring another Bush from the dynasty, Jeb seems to be the less of a lot of evils who are currently being mentioned – on both sides. He’s not a dumb guy. He’s much more well spoken than his brother. If he can leave the buy-bull at home and represent ALL Americans, as Americans first and foremost, he’d at least have a chance for consideration me. I’m mildly interested. The rest leave me cold (and some are downright scary and/or ridiculous).
He seems to take a soft stance on illegal immigration. That’s an important issue for a lot of people.
I wonder if America can stomach the idea of another Bush.
I haven’t heard Rand Paul say anything too wacky so far. He’s having a tough time shaking off the isolationist reputation and that of his father. I don’t think he will ever have enough support to get in if he runs.
What are your thoughts on Bernie Sanders?
http://www.ontheissues.org/house/Bernie_Sanders.htm
I don’t really know.
Good and bad, it seems.
Can’t be worse than Shrillary.
I think I prefer someone who thinks and votes their convictions, even if I may disagree with some of them, rather than votes according to the highest bidder.
Leon says…LOL. Wut? I feel dizzy…
In response to Chickenhead saying…“When “us/we” failed to disagree we were “dumber” because of the sides taken on all matter makes “us/we” “dumber” in association with attacks referred to as “dumber” when spoken for “us/we” as being “dumber”.”
See Leon what I have to put up with, he’s a f***** retard, just like his followers i.e. “smokes”(F U too BIG “dumber” MOUTH!) and “johnnyboy” = who finds it necessary to reiterate from week to week on open threads when he’s WRONG about what he says himself…”quibble over small things.” johnnyboy does this without providing the link to the previous weeks open thread in hopes that everyone just believes the “dumber” johnnyboy…over what he calls “quibble over small things” but yet for some reason important enough to bring forth to the next week. A true “dumber,” no wonder johnnyboy didn’t disagree with Chickenhead when he said everyone(except me since I’ve never been part of Chickenhead/Snakeheads “we/us” program) on ROKDROP is now “DUMBER!”
I didn’t feel the need to drop a link to last week’s open thread as I copied the comments in question, verbatim and in sequence.
If anyone doesn’t believe me, they can find the thread in the recent archives, but they likely don’t need to since most of them probably were reading the thread as it unfolded.
How was I wrong again?
I admit what we are disagreeing on is petty and largely inconsequential. I also said we can keep quibbling. I just prefer not to.
However, if you feel the need to keep calling me a liar, then I have no problem with re-posting the proof that you were wrong. Not only were you wrong, you were wrong very loudly.
The fact remains, I never said anything about statistics until you did. You tried to say I was the one who went off on a tangent with statistics when it was clearly you. It’s in the thread. It’s lunacy for you to try to deny it.
China is Planning to Purge Foreign Technology and Replace With Homegrown Suppliers

I guess so now that they’ve stolen so much R&D from everyone else.

Lotte reportedly hesitated to call an ambulance ― possibly concerned at the uproar another accident may cause ― and this may have led to the man’s death, according to those close to the matter.
How about this: Follow safety regulations! Call the ambulance right away! Stop saving money through shortcuts and cheaper materials!
Actress No Soo Ram wears controversial dress to film awards

No Soo Ram?
Yes, soooooo ram!
johnnyboy
“However, if you feel the need to keep calling me a liar,”
Umm, show me where I called you a “liar?” Yes, I called you “dumber” but I’m going to stop explaining myself since you create new names I’ve supposedly called you. Are you a native English speaker? I ask because there is an obvious sense in your lack of all round English communication ability. I quite teaching ethnic Koreans English so I’m not going to continue to do so with you without pay. Now, before you answer that question don’t lie or consider it okay to give me a white lie.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl to be released upon the end of investigation without any continued legal persecution for his volunteering in an unjust 8 year mountain bombing war(as of 2009) & or better described as a dumber nation building exercise failure. He was hoodwinked into serving but should be punished for volunteering though doesn’t deserve additional pay/salary/money like all the other leeching U.S. servicemembers in the military–industrial complex, or military–industrial–congressional complex, comprising of policy and monetary relationships which exist between legislators, national armed forces, and the arms industry that supports them. He shouldn’t be able to join the 60,000 tripple-dipping Vet club who collect 3.5 billion in benefits.
You and I disagree on the chronological order of events. I say it happened one way, you say another.
If you say that I am wrong, does that mean you are calling me a liar?
I suppose not strictly speaking. I would like to know if you think I am lying.
So, for clarification, am I wrong and lying, or just wrong without lying?
Or am I right and telling the truth as can be seen in the original thread and the example I copied directly from it?
Did you not mention statistics first?
Obama speaks/says 50 years of the same thing is bad at year end speech.
So, Obama what about 60+ years of the same stupid thing/pure blood family fued with N. Korea? I sense something will change with N. Korea soon…ummm I’d say this lunar new year while N. Korean soldiers are on siesta/marijuana smoking holiday vacation break.

“His comments came during a feisty year-end news conference Friday, just hours before Obama and his family boarded Air Force One for a holiday vacation in Hawaii.
“I don’t anticipate overnight changes. But what I know deep in my bones is that if you’ve done the same thing for 50 years and nothing’s changed, you should try something different if you want a different outcome, and this gives us an opportunity for a different outcome,”

http://www.ibtimes.com/staples-data-hack-how-find-out-if-your-credit-card-may-have-been-compromised-1763804
With the news Friday that Staples Inc. had suffered a major data breach that could have compromised millions of credit cards, consumers across the nation will be checking their transaction histories and receipts to find out whether or not their personal data may be at risk. The big office supply retail store chain said in a statement posted on its website Friday that “criminals” deployed malware in the point-of-sale systems of 115 of its 1,400 U.S. stores in August and September.
It is very easy to find if your card has been hacked.
Send me a scan of the front and back of your card along with a picture ID and your social security number.
I will check it for you.
Better do it quickly… as I imagine my answer will be “yes”.
Two cops shot for the uniforms they wore(hehehe), reminds me of black teenagers(12 yrs. old) killed for the color of their skin. Were they killed in less than 2 seconds like the young innocent black 12 year old boy playing around? How dare kids play, playing kids should be killed or “ambushed” just like those NYPD cops. To be sure, the NRA has nothing to do with this, the “ambush” couldn’t have been stopped through gun regulation so SHUT YOUR MOUTHS and don’t even think about it.
Let’s send this case to the grand jury with a prosecutor who isn’t interested in doing his/her job or doesn’t care about playing the normal offensive, let’s have the prosecutor defend the accused in front of the grand jury which is common when cops kill black teenagers. Hang prosecutors in public who don’t do their jobs or do the right thing!

Two cops, Wenjian Lu and Rafael Ramos, were shot execution-style by a black gunman.
…because nothing protests racist white cops quite like killing an Hispanic and a Chinaman.
Time to make a fortune selling tshirts that say…
Negros: is there anything they can do right?
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. A Chinese and Latino NYPD cops are sitting in their car when a black guy with a Jewish name walks up…
I think this is funny to see Americans killing each other off. The world is better each day when that happens.
Vacation over, Tom?
Better go check your substitute’s posts from when you were gone. You may have some explaining to do with your PRC bosses.
