A South Korean soldier who shot dead five of his colleagues and injured seven others has been sentenced to death by a military court.
The sergeant opened fire in June 2014 at his post near the North Korean border and fled, sparking a manhunt.
He was captured two days later after he shot himself during a tense stand-off with troops.
It reignited debate on military culture in South Korea, where all males must do about two years military service.
Can Korea develop an all volunteer force to counter the 1.2 million “draftees” to the North? The ROK cadre I worked with were quite professional, while the draftees doing thier two years ranged from professionals to “needs adult supervision.”
This is an interesting video. In the end, the cop was wrong and the citizen was right… even polite and respectful.
But the question is… if you were the cop, what would (could) you have done differently?
There needs to be a public awareness campaign on standardized behaviors of how to deal with police. That would go a long way toward reducing conflict and friction.
Here is a comment test to see if the comments are working again. Can a commenter leave a reply please. Thanks.
I hope its working. 🙂
Does Korea currently carry out Death Sentences? I don’t remember any in the news over the passt few years.

I am glad to hear that people can comment again. It was an issue with the imbedded WordPress Jetpack comment plugin. It went bad for some reason.
Some here might find this article interesting.
I just knew that there had to be something wrong with the site.
The Drop never goes quiet for that long. Too many here who love to share opinions; myself included.
Welcome back, everyone.
Well… hope this works….
Criminalization of everything, militarized cops, black lives matter, distrust both ways between cops and citizens, etc…

When the cop pulls you over, don’t commit suicide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj0mtxXEGE8
