How Obama Loves America and Rudy Guliani looks like…
Why are Republicans(chicken/EGGHEAD/Rudy G.) “obsessed” about Obama either not loving the country or loving it “the wrong way”?

The GOP, Rudy G.(chicken/EGGHEAD) views America like children, because unconditional love is “not how grown-ups think.”

Republicans are like “parents who think their kids can do no wrong” and when the school tells them their child did something bad, they yell at the school.

GOP conservatives(chicken/EGGHEAD), they’re a little like blackout drinkers. They remember all the good stuff about the night before, the laughs, the winning at beer pong, but no recollection of the bad. The pissing in the lobby fountain, groping coworkers, wiping out the Indians.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRB8ee7yGwo

Republicans won’t be able to run against the Obama economy.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/employment-report-u-s-added-295k-jobs-in-february/
“The U.S. economy added 295,000 jobs in February, the Labor Department said in its monthly non-farm payrolls report Friday. The unemployment rate declined to 5.5 percent, from 5.7 percent.

Economist had forecast that employers added 235,000 jobs last month. One figure being closely watched is wage growth – job growth has been robust over the past year, but wage increases have been tepid. A pick-up in wage growth would offer a further signal that the U.S. economy is on a solid path.

Average hourly earnings rose 3 cents to $24.78, the Labor Department said.”

Just like a GOP Ferguson, MO judge…
Ronald J Brockmeyer, who is accused of fixing traffic tickets for himself and associates, was a driving force behind using fines and fees to generate revenue.

The judge in Ferguson, Missouri, who is accused of fixing traffic tickets for himself and colleagues while inflicting a punishing regime of fines and fees on the city’s residents, also owes more than $170,000 in unpaid taxes.

Ronald J Brockmeyer, whose court allegedly jailed impoverished defendants unable to pay fines of a few hundred dollars, has a string of outstanding debts to the US government dating back to 2007, according to tax filings obtained by the Guardian from authorities in Missouri.

Brockmeyer, 70, was this week singled out by Department of Justice investigators as being a driving force behind Ferguson’s strategy of using its municipal court to aggressively generate revenues.

As well as being a judge in Ferguson’s municipal court, Ronald Brockmeyer is also a prosecutor in two nearby cities and a private attorney.”

Ferguson Police Chief still silent on DOJ report…The DOJ will force the Ferguson police to change(one way or other) and/or will sue the city. The entire police force could be gone!

You’d think by now he would have consumed it and analyzed it?

Actually, he knows much because in 2013 he bragged in an email about its court passing the $2 million mark for the first time in history etc…
http://www.alan.com/2015/03/06/ferguson-police-chief-not-fluent-with-doj-report/
You’d think by now he would have consumed it and analyzed it?

According to CNN’s Sarah Sidner, Jackson had been barred from talking to the press after the report was released, and when she tracked him down, discovered why…

it’s clear that he’s still not very good at talking to press:

SIDNER: Explain. Do you think the department has a race problem? Do they have a problem? And are you going to fix it? What are you going to do about it?

JACKSON: I need to have time to really analyze the report so I can comment on it.

SIDNER: Why do you need time to analyze the report? you should have known what was going on in your department, correct?

In fact, he did know, and the CNN report cites emails in which he agrees to boost the city’s revenue via increasing arrests and issuing more tickets. In addition, a press conference held earlier this week by Mayor James Knowles acknowledged many of the findings and, while they didn’t address the systemic racism in the police department, admitted many of their faults and vowed to take action.”

Happy 50th “Bloody Sunday” Anniversary Selma Alabama!!!
The last civil rights commemoration was in Aug. 2013, a massive event held at the Lincoln Memorial to honor the March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his “I Have A Dream” speech. There, not 1 GOP congressional leadership was attended. So, it’s not a surprise they’ll be absent again for this next one…
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/gop-leaders-to-skip-selma-event-115801.html
“Scores of U.S. lawmakers are converging on tiny Selma, Alabama, for a large commemoration of a civil rights anniversary. But their ranks don’t include a single member of House Republican leadership — a point that isn’t lost on congressional black leaders.
None of the top leaders — House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy or Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who was once thought likely to attend to atone for reports that he once spoke before a white supremacist group — will be in Selma for the three-day event that commemorates the 1965 march and the violence that protesters faced at the hands of white police officers.
Lawmakers awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to the 1965 marchers on Monday, ahead of the 50th anniversary event.”

Oh yeah, and here is more on Steve Scalise and the GOP.

Steve Scalise, house majority whip/3rd man in charge of house GOP’s/racist and speaker to David Duke’s white supremacy group from Louisiana was chosen to count/wrangle up the votes, so how has he been doing?

House GOP introduced they yanked abortion bill after revolt.

House pulls border vote.

House Republican leaders scrap education vote.

House introduced, didn’t yank, then failed to pass the temporary funding plan for Dept. of Homeland Security/DHS (until the democrats/Nancy Pelosi saved the day to help pass a clean DHS version(Immigration not included/attached ).

So, the house GOP loses again! The GOP doesn’t really care about Iran and ISIS and Homeland Security and etc…

Loretta Lynch is still waiting for the GOP to vote on her nomination. No Attorney General nominee has ever waited so long in decades for a vote on her nomination even though there aren’t any essential objections to her vote. I didn’t know the GOP likes Eric Holder so much!

Ashton Baldwin “Ash” Carter (white man) was nominated as defense secretary after Loretta Lynch but somehow the GOP already voted for him and has been sworn in/Feb. 17th.

Fox News is not news when they don’t respond and/or condone the lies non-journalist Bill O’Reilly makes about real news or the threats he makes toward real journalists. At this time Fox News cannot be compared to CNN.

“even though there aren’t any essential objections to her vote. I didn’t know the GOP likes Eric Holder so much!”

Ha!

She is a FAR bigger shytbag than Holder… and that is saying a LOT.

She might be even more of a danger to liberals and Democrats than conservatives or Republicans. This is because she LOVES asset forfeiture… and the biggest victims of asset forfeiture are those who use drugs… even if it is a little bit of pot…

…and liberals are much more… uh… liberal… about the use of pot.

Cheer her on, Tbone. Liberals are good at licking the boot that kicks them hardest. So are the current crop of Republicans… who are certainly NOT conservatives.

Tbone, you are absolutely right every time you call Republican “leadership” big piles of shyt. But don’t think for a moment that Democratic “leadership” is any better.

Both parties simply want to raape you and take your stuff while blaming the other guys… and they work with Wall Street, Big Business, government agencies, “community organizers”, other governments, and even each other, to do that… be it by increased taxes, burdensome regulations, intrusive laws, crony capitalism, deficit spending, pet projects, secret deals, etc.

The funny thing is, Tbone, every time you come on here with your pusssy flapping over the latest GOP outrage, nobody even attempts to defend them… or wishes to… because you are pretty much right, even when you are completely wrong about the actual facts or their interpretation.

The reason you get no respect is not because of you borderline-crazy anti-GOP rants. It is because you seem to think that Republicans and Democrats are the opposite… so if Republicans are bad, Democrats must be good. And that is very far from the truth.

Democrats are just very good at appealing to emotion… and liberals are an emotional lot…

…except for the Limousine Liberal crowd who play the game with puppydog eyes but are every bit as coldly calculating as the shiittiest rich, white, privileged, darkie-hating, woman-bashing, Bible-thumping, Drug War mongering Wall Street Republican.

If you addressed issues by laying out the facts, describing the problems, and proposing solutions, you could bash Republicans all day long… and even have people nodding their heads and thinking your are pretty smart. But if you sincerely did that, you might recognize they are only half the problem… and for some reason, you are incapable of recognizing that.

But back to the point. Perhaps decisions on Loretta Lynch are being delayed because she is dangerous rather than because she is black.

But with this in mind, what was the Democratic delay with Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court nomination? Racism, obviously. Democrats just don’t like colored folk, right?

Holy Shyt!

White people engaged in illegal sledding? What the fukk is this world coming to?

Now imagine if white people burned and looted. Would the cops and national guard simply stand by?

There is a double standard… but it isn’t quite what you would like to believe.

Let’s look further…

The U.S. Code, 2 USC 1963 states ‘It shall be the duty of the Capitol police on and after April 29, 1876, to precent any portion of the Capitol Grounds and terraces from being used as playgrounds or otherwise, so far as may be necessary to protect the public property, turf and grass from destruction or injury.’

This law (or is it a rule?) is pretty open to interpretation… dependent on if sledding will damage turf, grass, or public property… not quite as clear-cut as, say, looting a convenience store.

One might even speculate that sledding on Capitol Hill is barely a crime, unlike burning a cake shop or throwing rocks at cops… and only ranks as high as civil infraction.

Tbone, there are so many things you could push in everyone’s face to get them thinking… and, perhaps, even change their minds closer to your way of thinking.

Fretting over people peacefully sledding in harmony on public land is not one of them… and, as it benefits everyone, from liberal to conservative and communist to fascist, it should be a perfect example of needless government over-regulation that everyone works together to resist.

…but, of course, no issue is important enough that it can’t be diluted with a little fake racism.

I hadn’t thought about it but yeah, there’s been a lot less drama at 1600 compared to some of the previous (two or so) occupants. Of course the current occupant is on his P’s and Q’s because he’s a sekrit mooslim foreign usurper tyrant – so no cigars and blue dresses for him…

Leon,

Unless Michele is his “beard”, I don’t think Barry’s “sold out to Allah” (definition of Muslim). It’s more likely he’s “a little light on his feet” from his association with Bill Ayres. You might want to read about the way they indoctrinated the Weather Underground…

And from what I’ve heard, cigars and dresses might be familiar to him. But not in the same way they were to Bill… Ask Reggie if you need more info.

It’s more likely that he’s just one of those folks who think you can negotiate with a virus or a wolf-pack. The kind of sheeple that used to self-delete from the gene pool by the results of their poor choices.

C’est la vie.

chickenEGGHEAD says…”Democrats are just very good at appealing to emotion… and liberals are an emotional lot”…and “puppydog eyes”

GOP “leadership” House Speaker John Boehner can’t help it — he’s an emotional guy. Here’s a look back at what’s moved him to tears. 15 times John Boehner cried…click below to see him do it and find out why:
http://www.politico.com/gallery/2012/07/11-times-john-boehner-cried/000266-011823.html

chicken/EGGHEAD says…”But don’t think for a moment that Democratic “leadership” is any better.”

Ummm, I don’t have to “think for a moment” to know that Obama IS MUCH BETTER than George Walker Bush. And for that matter I don’t have to go back very far(or “think for a moment”) as Joe Biden IS ALSO MUCH BETTER than Dick Cheney.

But does GOP house leader Steve Scalise take the cake with his affiliations with white supremacists…

Which current democrat in a leadership role has been associated with white supremacists? You try to say that democrats and republicans are the same which is proof that you live in an alternate universe.

chicken/EGGHEAD says “…are every bit as coldly calculating as the shiittiest rich, white, privileged, darkie-hating, woman-bashing, Bible-thumping, Drug War mongering Wall Street Republican.”

You’re down-playing republican “coldness”

“Drug War mongering”

Drug War and WAR mongerers ~ There, I fixed it for you!

“Bible-thumping”

Bible-thumping Anti-Semitic/Anti-Mormon/Anti-Muslim/Anti-Gay/Anti-black man Haters ~ There, I fixed it for you!

Do I really have to fix “Woman-Bashing” etc…for you?

chicken/EGGHEAD says…”She might be even more of a danger to liberals and Democrats than conservatives or Republicans. This is because she LOVES asset forfeiture”

As you/chicken/EGGHEAD view “asset forfeiture” in your simple mind simpleton, it’s been discontinued, don’t you know EGGHEAD?

But as a US district prosecutor Loretta Lynch didn’t make the laws, did she break any laws in connection to “asset forfeiture?” Noooooooooooooo!!! Besides, changes have been made by Eric Holder and the white Hirsch brothers shouldn’t have acted like criminals in their attempt to avoid detection/depositing or transferring less than $10 thousand countless times. If you look and act guilty you’re probably guilty of something aye? I know you’d rather have law enforcement go after the black man for $$$ like in Ferguson, MO.

Loretta Lynch thinks civil and criminal forfeiture are important DOJ tools which returns $$$ to victims, takes the profit out of crime and it’s done pursuant to supervision by a court and with a court order. She’s not the only person who believes this as do many others like state and local counterparts.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/01/19/more-fallout-from-eric-holders-changes-to-civil-asset-forfeiture-law/
“Douglas County [Neb.] Sheriff Tim Dunning said Friday that he fears Holder’s directive will lead to fewer forfeitures and fewer federal drug prosecutions, and to drug traffickers doing less time in state prison than they would in federal facilities.
“This benefits nobody but drug dealers,” Dunning said. “Federal law is a tremendously bigger hammer. I don’t see what hammer we are going to have over these people now.”

chicken/EGGHEAD says…”But with this in mind, what was the Democratic delay with Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court nomination? Racism, obviously. Democrats just don’t like colored folk, right?”

No you’re not correct, democrats do not show that they’re racist like republicans and Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harassment and there was a need to investigate allegations. Ummm, I don’t think Loretta Lynch is accused of sexually harassing anyone. You’re such an EGGHEAD!!!

Leon, you are increasingly becoming like those you once condemned back in the day when your comments were clever, insightful, and relevant.

Like the liberal media and other left-wing shills, you constantly focus on the outrageous nonsense of a fringe minority of assorted nutjobs as if it is the common belief of the mainstream conservative opposition.

In doing so, it ignores valid criticisms by trying to associate all questioning of Obama as coming from the same source. It further keeps attention focused on sensational non-issues to obscure actual issues.

If you mixed up your rather shoddy and humorless Obama schtick with some valid satire or pointed observations, it might succeed.

Instead, you come off sounding more and more like Tbone rambling on with some kind of flighty nonsense that never actually reaches a point.

Leon, I know you are better than this. You are intelligent and capable. You have awareness and wisdom. And you have demonstrated this in the past… as I once sought your comments, as they would be worth a chuckle or a moment of thought.

Please come back to us.

And, of course, Michelle is not a tranny. No self-respecting tranny without a serious crack habit would let themselves go like that.

I’m still flummoxed about Hillary’s e mail account. Things I can’t figure out:
1) Why she did this in the first place
(she doesn’t seem to have a ready excuse…ignorance is laughable, and she’s had a LOT of time to work with the PR boiler room people and figure one out)

2) Why this news is coming out NOW?
Surely back when they were investigating Benghazi it was obvious they were perusing her dot gov account, since it didn’t exist?

3) The timing of the (renewed) Petraeus scandal is equally weird. It seems almost synchronized with the Hillary story…just like two years ago.

Are we all just part of a computer simulation? This is the machine’s idea of satire…and it likes to f* with us?

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

Liz, with 85%+ of “news” actually being opinion, frequently based on twisted or incomplete facts, it is no wonder that nothing makes sense. Any stories that are promoted are not done to inform, but rather to serve some other purpose… generally by provoking an emotional response.

This story is being promoted now because it is well before any election… and, conveniently, with no evidence, it is designed to burn out long before election time. At that time, anybody who asks about this “long-ago resolved” scandal will be branded a misogynist or right-wing nutjob.

It is a smart move on Hillary’s part… as there is unlikely to be any penalty, or even scandal, for keeping tight and exclusive control over any evidence that could be used against her. Hard drive crashes or other excuses can be used to keep any potentially scandalous communication away from the public.

This action is likely just a simple unethical, and possibly illegal, action used to obscure larger unethical and illegal actions.

But nobody will chase this down… because those who have the power to do so are engaged in similar things one way or another.

NY Orthodox Jews protest Netanyahu Congress speech
http://dippost.com/2015/03/04/new-york-orthodox-jews-protest-netanyahu-congress-speech/
NEW YORK (AA) – A large crowd of ultra-Orthodox Jews rallied Tuesday in front of the Israeli consulate in New York to protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s controversial visit in Washington and his speech to Congress.

Approximately 1,000 dark-clothed demonstrators stood behind police barricades that stretched for five city blocks on to protest the speech Netanyahu delivered to Congress earlier in the day.

“We are here today to proclaim that the state of Israel cannot talk in the name of Jews,” said Rabbi Aron Jacobowitz, spokesperson for the Central Rabbinical Congress, the coalition that organized the gathering.

Jacobowitz said Netanyahu’s remarks were aimed at “igniting war and fueling fire” and that his policies were destructive for Jewish people and the world.

The prime minister’s address to Congress, which was organized without consulting the White House, was seen as an affront to the Obama administration.

Rabbi Jacob Kellmer, one of the protesters, said Netanyahu outraged millions of Jews by “avoiding” Obama and “going to the Congress to instigate it against the president.”

“We, millions of Jews, were hurt by what he just said in the Congress. We came out to protest to say he cannot talk in the name of all the Jews,” he said.

Republicans keep the black man down by pushing true equality when a large percentage of the black population is not culturally or educationally prepared to compete in a truly equal environment.

Democrats keep the black man down by only talking about equality while supporting a self-destructive culture and insuring much of the black population remains dependent and can never truly become equal.

The results of both of these methods are the same … and are intentionl.

Republican Congressman: Selma’s Bloody Sunday Was ‘Comparatively Bloodless’

http://freakoutnation.com/2015/03/gop-congressman-selmas-bloody-sunday-was-bloodless/
“Bloodless? Tell that to Congressman John Lewis (D-Ga.) who suffered from a cracked skull in 1965.

Tell that to activist and deacon Jimmie Lee Jackson who was fatally shot days before the march by a state trooper during a peaceful march in Marion, Alabama.

Tell that to the 600 marchers who were attacked at the Edmund Pettus Bridge after leaving Selma; state troopers and county posse attacked the unarmed marchers with billy clubs and tear gas.

Tell that to Ms. Amelia Boynton, who was beaten until unconscious.

Tell that to civil rights activist James Reeb. A white group beat and murdered the Unitarian Universalist minister from Boston, who had come to Selma to march in the second march.

The list goes on.”

Chickenhead, I do not ignore the shortcomings of Obammy. I feel no need to dwell on them because we are all subjected to them (real and imagined) 24/7.

You still seem to insinuate (yet again) I somehow am a leftist. I am not, I merely point out those with Obammy Derangement Syndrome. I pretty much ignore tbone all together. That leaves a smattering of other commenters. Then there’s the humorless and dull far rightists whom you also can’t reason with, because Jebus!

I would love to rise to the occasion again, should I be properly motivated by the material provided by others.

You can plant flowers anywhere… but you take a shyt in one place?

I should totally write press releases for the Klan. I’d be a spokesman but the swastika tattoo on my forehead is a distraction.

A more realistic answer is: This is why I, and perhaps others, no longer take “racism” seriously. It has become an industry to acquire special treatment with no intetest in true equality. Most accusations of “racism” are now something to make fun of or have fun with.

Nut rage flight attendant sues Korean Air, former exec

Kim Do Hee, the flight attendant, is seeking compensation through a trial in New York city after she was verbally and physically attacked by Korean Air heiress Cho Hyun-ah, according to a statement on Wednesday by two American law firms, the Weinstein Law Firm and Kobre & Kim.

A Korean citizen can sue another Korean citizen in US courts instead of going through Korean courts?

In a Korean court she’d probably get no more the 5,000,000 KRW. In the US? No telling but 5,000,000 USD wouldn’t be out of the question.

A Korean citizen can sue another Korean citizen in US courts instead of going through Korean courts?

The “offense” was committed in the USA so US courts do have jurisdiction. Theoretically, a foreigner can make a claim against another foreigner in Korean courts, but … good luck with that.

Come on, guys… you see the deal, right?

The flight attendant sues the Nut Lady.

The Nut Lady is in jail in Korea so she cannot go to court in America. If she does not show up, there will be an automatic judgement against her. If she does not pay, she is found in contempt. There won’t be US Marshals trying to extradite her back to the States… but she can never go back to America.

Of course that won’t happen… as she will have a lawyer delay the trial until she gets out of jail.

But that’s all just laying a foundation for the REAL deal…

…for suing Korea Airlines.

And that’s when the pockets get REALLY deep.

…and, on this analysis, I would stake my law degree from the University of Armchair.

Jurisdiction is the key!

And yeah, it just sounds crazy to me if it was completely reversed- an American suing another American in Korean courts for an incident that happened in Seoul on an American airliner.

Tbone, you will always be stupid if you listen to stupid people… or smart people who wish to manipulate you. You are a true tool… though a tool would be strong and useful… making you more of a utensil.

Puerto Rico’s statehood has nothing to do with racism… nor partisan politics… both parties support Puerto Rico’s statehood… with even Ronald Reagan as an outspoken advocate. It is good for America.

Bit it is about what the people of Puerto Rico want. After 4 referendums, the citizens of Puerto Rico have not had a majority support statehood… and, while the last referendum, for the first time, had a majority of voters want a change in status, less than 50% voted for statehood… and a leading statehood advocate lost an election. Not a big sign of support.

Apart for “having a vote that counts”, there is no benefit for Puerto Ricans. They will start having to pay federal taxes but no big wave of federal cash is going to come in.

…and most of them can see how useful “a vote that counts” is to the rest of America.

Puerto Rico has serious problems… but most of them come from Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans… and not the imaginary racism of white people… most of which are barely aware it exists.

EGGHEAD says…”with even Ronald Reagan as an outspoken advocate. It is good for America.”

What your old boy Ronald said isn’t good enough these days for the moderate GOP you EGGHEAD, nor is it good enough obviously for the more extreme GOP like yourself.

EGGHEAD says…”Puerto Rico’s statehood has nothing to do with racism”

EGGHEAD tries to twist the story his way from equal voting rights for ALL U.S. citizens including 5 island territories(not just Puerto Rico EGGHEAD) which includes millions of veterans to a denial of racism or “statehood.”

This is about U.S. Supreme Court Downes vs. Bidwell, 182 U.S. 244(1901), which is simply a law that can be changed since it was about duties/import taxes and NOT about voting rights for ALL U.S. citizens.

The racial or ethnic population in U.S. territories is 98.4% ~ of course it’s not about “racism.” Hehehehehe!!!!!

It’s about the GOP not wanting minorities who usually vote democratic from having the right to vote.

The voting irregularities in these U.S. territories is based on a 1901(Downes vs. Bidwell) law that has to do with “ALIEN RACES(because they might not be able to understand Anglo-Saxon principles/laws, therefore the constitution doesn’t have to apply to them “ALIEN RACES).”

Hehehehehe!!!!!

Yet EGGHEAD denies that this has to do with race. Hehehehehe!!!!!

Even the guy[Justice Henry Billings Brown(also wrote the “Separate But Equal” decision in Plessy vs. Ferguson) who wrote the first of the ruling suggested the ruling was only to last “for a time” which meant he didn’t expect it to stand for so long].

EGGHEAD obviously didn’t watch the video to learn something because he pretends to know everything as it takes him back to his childhood pretend stage.

Sorry EGGHEAD,

EGGHEAD says…”and most of them can see how useful “a vote that counts” is to the rest of America.”

Sure thing EGGHEAD, go ahead and try to minimize the vote. You’re such a GOP EGGHEAD!

Next, EGGHEAD will be telling you that Justice Sonia Sotomayor is the daughter of Puerto Rican immigrants.

What should be done with the Puerto Rican congressional delegate Pedro Pierluisi?

Statehood doesn’t have to be the end all to whether ALL U.S. citizens have voting equal rights(especially servethemselfmember VETERANS).

Non U.S. citizen “servicemembers” are recruited to “serve” in the military and if those “ALIENS” somehow do their time they can vote but not U.S. citizens. Sure EGGHEAD, keep trying you GOP TOOLISH EGGHEAD!!!

Said Khamenei: “Isn’t this the ultimate degree of the collapse of political ethics and the U.S. system’s internal disintegration?”

‘Kerry says Congress cannot modify potential Iran nuclear deal’
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2015-03/12/c_134059322.htm
The P5+1 group, consisting of the U.S., Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany, is negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program in hopes of reaching a framework deal by the end of the month. The deal would likely oblige Iran to cut back its nuclear program — reportedly for at least ten years — in exchange for a loosening of crippling economic sanctions.

On Wednesday, Kerry said his reaction to the letter was “utter disbelief”, adding that it “ignores more than two centuries of precedent in the conduct of American foreign policy.”

“During my 29 years here in the Senate, I never heard of nor even heard of it being proposed anything comparable to this,” said the U.S. top diplomat.

He also warned that the Republican Senators’ move could harm global trust in the United States.

“This risks undermining the confidence that foreign governments, in thousands of important agreements, commit to between the United States and other countries,” he said.

“Anglo-Saxon values” have served the world amazingly well… and continue to do so for those who practice them or adopt them.

America was built primarily on “Anglo-Saxon values”… and, until diluted, they made America a global leader in everything from literacy rates to living standards.

It’s hard to imagine much benefit from the (forced) introduction of other value systems into America… as these non-“Anglo-Saxon values” have produced places ranging from Mexico to the Middle East to Africa (except South Africa).

The world can be jealous or hateful toward “Anglo-Saxon values”… but it is hard to argue with success.

““America was built…”

…on slavery”

Reconstruction, the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era, and the post-war period, which saw the U.S. become the world’s dominant economic, industrial and agricultural power, all happened after slavery had ended. Further, the non-slave-owning North beat the slave-owning South in the Civil War after developing just fine with “Anglo-Saxon values” but no slaves.

“AND…

…by immigrants”

Yes. Mostly Northern European immigrants with “Anglo-Saxon values”… and culturally-similar European immigrants who assimilated to the country and adopted preexisting English-inspired “Anglo-Saxon values” within a generation or less… as the whole Tolerance and Diversity fad had not yet started.

“Anglo-Saxon values” is an evolving and poorly defined term… as the Anglo-Saxons have not been around for 900 years… and even the English of 1775 and the Americans of today don’t have all the same values.

…but considering Anglo-Saxon-inspired “traditional American values” based on (and influencing) both England and the rest of Europe, “Anglo-Saxon values” can be understood.

Setnaffa, Tbone’s mother also had substance abuse problems… so he is sensitive.

As for me, I am a Putin fan only in the sense that he actually appears to work for the betterment of Russia instead of selling his country out to multinationals and (ironically) sociialists who would rather see the population poor and dependent than industrious and self-sufficient (as both parties in America seem to find fashionable).

Putin seems to have “won” against the opposition in Chechnya (be they classed as terrorists, insurgents, freedom fighters, etc)… something American military leaders and chickenhawk politicians should study as we return to square one (or less) after a decade-plus of war. In fact, American “leadership” is so politically helpless they can’t even control true civil unrest in Ferguson… even while they hassle old ladies at the airport, serve no-knock warrants on pot smokers, and shoot friendly dogs.

Putin has successfully obtained Crimea with a minimum of effort… and almost no resistance from anyone involved, including the spineless global “leadership” community staffed by the likes of Obama and the other ineffective European leaders that have nowhere near the stature of past leaders.

Under Putin, the Yeltsin-era oligarchs no longer exclusively control everything and average Russians are much better off economically… a reversal of the trend that is happening in America as Big Business and Wall Street work closely with the government to shrink the middle class (e.g. pushing for more cheap foreign labor).

In the end, Putin is a hard sonofabiitch… running a hard country… with a seemingly clear vision of where he wants it to go… and that is not all in his pocket, as many other strongmen leaders are apt to do.

Like the dictatorships of South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, history will likely look back at Putin with a large degree of thankfulness… and Russia, and Russians, will be better off because of him. He will be remembered for his accomplishments for Russia. Contrast that with St. Obama who will likely be remembered only for being black… which, as he is half white, even that will be a manufactured “accomplishment”.

I am not making any judgement about individual actions or methods, which can be open to some serious discussion… but I believe Putin has the best interest of Russia (and perhaps Russians) as motivation for many of the things that he does.

I have lost confidence that many (any?) American “leaders” have this same interest in the long-term success of America as a nation or a people… and, for every crappy thing Putin has done, I likely can give an example of a similar thing in America… but done without the best interests of America in mind.

So, yes, I guess I am a bit of a Putin “fan” in that sense… but likely not useful to him at all.

I should also add that I don’t really follow Putin, except what events I pick up in the “news” combined with guesses at the truth when I see clear pro and anti-Putin propaganda… so somebody could convince me to change my opinion by countering what I have written with facts and sound analysis.

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

Hmmm…

I’m really not sure what to believe.

I keep getting this nagging feeling that much of the anti-Putin information feels more like propaganda than news… glossing over his undisputed accomplishments with the economy and middle class through statistical manipulation… such as comparing Russia to countries that didn’t collapse after decades of horribly corrupt communism followed by an asset grab by the established gangster elite.

“It is pretty clear that Putin’s first priority is himself, his second priority are the well being of the thugs around him that support him, and his third priority is Russia.”

I likely agree with that… but I don’t see that as unusual. In fact, the first two goals seem necessary to accomplish the third one. Russia is a hard country. Nobody can survive unless they look out for themselves and take care of supporters. In many situations, strongman leaders generally don’t even rank their country as a third priority… but in the cases where they have, such as South Korea, the nation and people have prospered.

Post-Soviet Russia started with many serious problems in every area… and it seems Putin has used his power to successfully reduce many of these problems despite structural and cultural barriers… as well as those who would oppose him to empower themselves with far less concern for Russia.

So, while Putin is playing pro-Russia hardball with the current crop of weak Western leaders, he is getting lots of bad press about the current problems of Russia with no perspective of what he started with.

Again, I am no expert on this… so some honest facts and trends without all the rather transparent false comparisons and alarmist speculations mixed in might convince me otherwise… but as of now, it appears Putin has taken the bad situation he was handed and done an amazing job of making it less bad… with a continuing upward trend of empowerment of Russia and the welfare of the people.

I’m still open to debate on this.

“I think comparing Park Chung-hee to Putin is a bad comparison.”

They are diffetent… but the situations are very different.

“I think Park Chung-hee’s first priority was restoring order and developing the nation.”

I am not yet convinced that restoring order and developing the nation are not priorities with Putin… as he has restored order and developed the nation… two things that are unlikely to have happened on their own. If one looks at the leadership history or Russia and Korea, it seems clear the same tactics will not work in both places.

While Putin’s methods are certainly open to debate, his results seem clear.

“Instead of relying on natural resources to empower a few loyal ogliarchs around him like Putin has, Park used industry headed by capable businessmen to push the economy forward.”

It seems the situations are different. In technology, Korea’s global competition was an expensive Japan. Russia’s global competition is a cheap China. Russia already has a higher wage, DOUBLE in PPP, than China… making competition in labor-intensive tech a poor choice. Energy and resources are easy and available… and a good way to boost the economy quickly while concentrating on developing other sectors.

However, Russia is currently pushing advanced aspects of it’s tech sector to escape reliance on energy and resources. The lack of global awareness of this feels like anti-Russian propaganda through omission.

It seems a reasonable path to take advantage of a couple decades of easy energy and resource exports to get the nation on its feet while laying the groundwork for the next generation of productivity. Someone could suggest what “Putin should have done” if there is a more clever idea.

I will have to further consider the contrasts between chaebol heads and oligarchs… especially in the context of cultural differences.

This graph gives some good perspective of what Putin has accomplished … with an interesting point that the downturn at the end is purely speculative… which is how statistics on Russia have been marketed to the world every year… reinforcing my feeling that the West is being fed a degree of propaganda rather than reality.

Keep in mind that Putin started with true disaster… the collapse of the Soviet Union followed by Yeltsin’s American/IMF-designed recovery plan that likely was designed to fail in certain ways.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/04/GDP_of_Russia_since_1989.svg/1400px-GDP_of_Russia_since_1989.svg.png

It might be added that Russia’s improvements have not just been economic under Putin, but also political. Ranking in such things as Ease of Business and Corruption have also improved.

I remain unconvinced that Putin is not looking out for Russia… and I cannot see a better way of doing so based on the situation he was given.

In the end, I see so much subtle and overt bullshyt in any report on Russia or Putin that I must suspect propaganda over honest reporting.

And again, it becomes difficult to argue with results… as so many nations that claim to be trying continue to fail.

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

Another thought…

Too often in Western media, Putin is credited with creating the oligarchs… yet the reality is he inherited this from almost a decade of post-Soviet Yeltsin rule.

A big accomplishment of Putin is that he managed to unify Russia by firmly controlling the destructive regionalism developing under the oligarchy… through distasteful-but-necessary alliances.

But in doing so, a great deal of wealth fell into the hands of the exponentially growing middle class. It was skillful politics to do this… and it would be interesting to hear the musings of armchair dictators suggesting how they would have done it differently without the characteristic of Putin which they are critical of.

Much of the criticism of Putin ignores his actual accomplishments in a complex and hostile environment and complains that he did not do more… using unrealistic expectations as some sort of benchmark and then declaring failure. This reeks of anti-Putin/anti-Russian propaganda.

I might add that Leon likely has some wise insight onto this… and if he can stop fapping off to Obammy, our gay muslim communist dictator, long enough to share it, we would appreciate it.

Perhaps this says a few things well:

“Putin came into office when the worst regime was established: the economy was “totally decentralized”, and “the state had lost central authority, while the oligarchs robbed the country and controlled its power institutions.” In two years, Putin has restored hierarchy of power, ending the omnipotence of regional elites as well as destroying political influence of “oligarchs and oligopolies in the federal center.” The Family, Boris Yeltsin-era non-institutional center of power, was ruined, which, according to Migranyan, in turn undercut the positions of the actors, such as Boris Berezovsky and Vladimir Gusinsky, who had sought to privatize the Russian state “with all of its resources and institutions”.”

As i read more on this issue today, I become further convinced that Putin is exactly the leader Russia has needed… and I believe he has Russia’s interests in mind far more than those he has struggled against or taken power from.

…and much of the criticism I have read appears to be written as propaganda, with weasel words and speculation rather than a clear display of facts… reading more like a global warming lecture than a study of reality.

We lie to ourselves at our own peril.

A two minute rant by Thai celebrity Duangjai Phichitamphon about the unruly behavior of Chinese tourists at a Korean airport has gone viral, sparking furious online debate and condemnation by the media in Thailand.

In the video, the angry Duangjai is seen being pushed around by a throng of Chinese scrambling for a tax refund booth, claiming that everyone was queuing in an orderly fashion before a Chinese tour group turned up.

Who came up with the word “angry” to describe this Thai lady’s take on what she was witnessing? I would be more inclined to describe it as annoyed or incredulous.
