“Interstate Crosscheck is a computerized system meant to identify fraudulent voters. While Crosscheck’s list of nearly 7 million names of “potential” double voters has yet to unearth, as of this writing, a single illegal vote this year, it did help Republican elections officials scrub voters from registries, enough, it appears, to have swung several important Senate and governor’s races in favor of the GOP.
These names are then sent back to the state governments to inform an investigation of duplicate names on the voter rolls. While Kobach advertises Crosscheck as matching numerous identifiers, including the Social
Security numbers and dates of birth of voters, a six-month investigation by Al Jazeera America revealed that Crosscheck rosters caught nothing more than matching first and last names. And voters remain on the suspect list even when middle names, Social Security numbers and suffixes (Jr., Sr.) don’t match. Yet all these people — the list contains nearly seven million names — are subject to losing their vote.
The program’s method of identifying and purging voters especially threaten the registrations of minority voters who are vulnerable because African-American, Asian-American and Hispanics are 67 percent more likely than white voters to share America’s most common names: Jackson, Washington, Lee, Rodriguez and so on.”

Steven Jacobs, the suit’s plaintiff, has argued that Adelson unfairly terminated him as chief executive of Adelson’s casinos in Macao, China, in a case that has remained tangled in courts since 2010.
Jacobs alleged that Adelson fired him after he blocked hundreds of thousands of dollars meant for Leonel Alves, a Macau legislator and lawyer. He has argued that the funds would have potentially breached U.S. anti-bribery laws.
Jacobs additionally charged that Adelson and Alves refused his attempts to break ties with Macau’s triads, the Chinese organized crime groups that run illegal operations there.”

A Virginia Cop Pepper-Sprayed a Man Having a Medical Emergency

In another depraved example of conservative “Christians” defending and making excuses for child molester Josh Duggar, a Texas pastor’s wife claimed that he was merely “playing doctor” with his sleeping sisters.
Carrie Hurd and her husband Pastor Patrick Hurd are card-carrying members of the Quiverfull movement and they have 11 children of their own to prove it.
In response to Vyckie Garrison, an outspoken critic of Quiverfull, Carrie Hurd used her husband’s Facebook page to defend Josh Duggar and actually suggested that the girls he molested were somehow to blame for his sickening actions.
“Vyckie, this is actually Pat’s wife, Carrie. You women want parity in the board room and you want equal wages all the way up the ladder, but when it comes to taking responsibility and being equal in other areas, it is always the man’s fault or responsibility. How many women bait, hit first, but are seldom arrested for abuse………….?”
Hurd then excused Duggar’s crimes and behavior as a mere game of “playing doctor” and claimed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did the right thing by covering up for their son.
“When I was a kid, it was often called “playing doctor”, there were just as many girls initiating this kind of behavior as boys. Most of those never went on to perp horrible things. The Duggers, who I have never watched–am not a fan, did it properly and the 14 year old boy should probably be left alone to live a good life, just like girls who do the same thing.”
Hurd concluded her rant by referring to Garrison as a troll and told her to go fight ISIS if she really opposes mistreatment of women and girls.
“You troll the news for any little Christian misbehavior. Get a life! Go to Iraq and fight ISIS if you are seriously worried about women being treated well by men and society.”

The Duggar child molestation scandal has already led to TLC kicking “19 Kids and Counting” off the air. And Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has jumped to Duggar’s defense on his own Facebook page. Even a judge Huckabee appointed as Governor of Arkansas ordered Josh Duggar’s police record be destroyed.
Since the scandal became public, conservative “Christians” have circled the wagons to protect one of their own from facing the consequences of his actions and hypocrisy.
And this latest revisionist account of what happened is just another attempt to cover up Dugger’s crimes. This is just another example of how desperate conservative “Christians” are to keep the public from seeing them as the sick hypocrites they really are under all that dogma.

In case anyone’s wondered why I haven’t posted in a long time it’s because I left Korea last month with no plans to return for anything other than a short visit to the in-laws.
Of course that’s a bit of a lie because I stopped posting well in advance of my physical exit. I guess I’d have to say it’s a combination of things:
*I don’t feel `the Drop recovered from the great hosting snafu last year, still no weekly finders? Dafuk.
*Getting burned out on the KBlog community I guess with the number of “visit worthy” sites down to like 2 or 3 it’s pretty repetitive. “Korea sucks!”, “No, you suck!”, “You’re an apologist!”, “You’re a whiney wae gook!”, wash, rinse, repeat.
*Don’t care for some of the executive decisions with this site. OP pretty much talks at everyone rather than with anyone for the most part. Makes no effort to rid the site of the worst KBlog troll I’ve seen in my time in the Dae Han, as long as TBone’s allowed to troll this site as he does it’ll be stuck on a virtual back alley of Iteawon next to a Nigerian website for Phone Cards.
*See no reason to digest KBlogs anymore seeing as I’m back stateside.

…but be aware… many a round-eye devil has left Korea “never to return” only to find life in parts of America was not quite the ideal they remembered it to be… filled with more bad drivers and rude people than they remembered.
– GI’s mostly neutral management style is correct, in my opinion. Any strong comments would be wise to do through a sock. Perhaps he is Tom and Tbone… ridding his inner demons while generating comments?
– The scroll wheel takes care of idiots… but does get tiresome when having to also take care of the idiots that respond to idiots.
– Yes, it seems ROK Drop never recovered from the hosting debacle. Part of this is caused by a loss (or lack of restoring) archived comments.
It does seem the number of consistently interesting commenters has fallen to a half-handful… and very few part-time commenters come… and almost no strangers show up spouting nonsense worthy of teasing.
Perhaps it has been too long since a career thug has robbed a taxi driver, an officer has murdered his whore wife, town patrol has run amok, or a twink GI has been found dead and naked in the road.
Has USFK gotten their act together?

One wonders if it is new-and-improved solid leadership or simply better controlling the flow of information.

I have been planning to restart the Korea Finders and they will be back. As far as how I write I mostly keep my postings neutral and let ROK Heads discuss like you would around the water cooler.
As far as trolls they are a constant problem on the Internet and I take the approach of ignoring them. Some people have even claimed Chickenhead and Leon are trolls. If you don’t like what they post just ignore it.
As far as the site hosting crash it is going to take time to build the site up within Google again to get the high search rankings I had on the old site. The high search rankings is what brought in so many random people that would add to the various discussions on the site.
Once again thanks for being a valuable commenter and hopefully you consider coming back.

Tbone, I like to see bad things happen to soccer as much as the next American… and it is always a pleasure to see misfortune befall all of the scumbag organizations that run professional sports…
…but with all the other problems facing America, I wonder why the big concentration on soccer, of all things.
If there has to be some sort of sports crackdown by America, how about doing it on a sport that affects America… as, certainly, football, basketball, and baseball, are not squeaky clean. Even the Olympics, a notoriously corrupt affair, means more to America than soccer… which in organization, play style, and low scoring, perfectly represents the third world mentality.
Somehow, this whole thing stinks of misdirection or ulterior motive… curious what the real agenda is.

Do you like her hardline stance against legalization of marijuana that has imprisoned and impoverished a disproportionate number of blacks?

Do you like that she came up with the strategy used to discredit women who accused President Bill Clinton of sexual harassment?
It sounds to me like she is a right-wing predator hiding in a black woman’s skin… pushing inconsequential things like Voter ID to build fake liberal street cred… while actually screwing liberals over with support for a police state, protection for Big Pharmacy and Big Finance, and a persecutor of victims of sexual harassment when it fits her personal needs for power.
But you keep believing she is your liberal savior.

This isn’t making big news because… wait for it… both of the cops appear to be Hispanic.
I could be wrong… but (a) they appear to be Hispanic (b) it’s not generating Level One Outrage. QED.
And before “but… but… but”, basic Cop Sense already knew the deal… partially because they see it every day… and partially because even a civilian knows a woman (of any color) who works at a school doesn’t say she was threatened by mother unless it was so (being that she does not need the hassle, attention, reputation, etc).
The shuckin’ and jivin’ act, “So I wuz like why’z you talkin’ to me like sum child. Don’t you be talkin’ to me like dat. She wuz actin’ all scared and stuff cuz I don’t know why. Cuz she was white,” doesn’t fly with white police… or Hispanic police… or black police… or any police.
The situation went up a notch as soon as the Cuz She Be White talk started.
Anyway, as soon as she admitted that the white woman was acting scared (but didn’t know why) it was a confirmation that she demonstrated some behavior that was possibly threatening… and that gave probable cause for further investigation… said ChickenHead, The Armchair Lawyer.
Then the cop can ask a name.
That being said, while that woman appeared to need a good smack and a lecture on trying not to encourage stereotyping with stereotypical behavior, the situation really did not need to escalate that quickly.
Perhaps it sets a bad precedent in our Instant Compliance Police State, but it seems the cop should have let her finish her phone call in a minute or two and then speak with her again.
“Ma’am, I need to file a report on this, as I must on everything, but there is no trouble here. I’m sure this was a misunderstanding and this is the end of it all. I will speak with the other woman and make sure this is resolved with her as well. I do need your name for the report, but, as long as there is no problem in the future, this means nothing and it will be buried in a huge stack of reports on small issues like this that we generate every day. Now may I get you name, ma’am?”
The purpose of getting the name is to generate ownership of the event… which serves to modify future behavior.
Continued resistance to giving the name would require escalation.
“Ma’am, because it appears there may have been a minor crime committed, I am legally able to determine your identity. I would like to do this by asking your name. This is easier than arresting you and running your fingerprints down at the station. I would like to resolve this by filing a one paragraph incident report that will be forgotten by tomorrow instead of an arrest report that will follow you for life. I would like to protect and serve by offering you the easy way but I must do my job no matter which choice you take. Now, ma’am, can I simply get your name or do I need to arrest you and take you Downtown?”
After that, let the fetus beating begin… maybe knock some sense into the kid that mom never had.

While Crosscheck’s list of nearly 7 million names of “potential” double voters has yet to unearth, as of this writing, a single illegal vote this year, it did help Republican elections officials scrub voters from registries, enough, it appears, to have swung several important Senate and governor’s races in favor of the GOP.
These names are then sent back to the state governments to inform an investigation of duplicate names on the voter rolls. While Kobach advertises Crosscheck as matching numerous identifiers, including the Social
Security numbers and dates of birth of voters, a six-month investigation by Al Jazeera America revealed that Crosscheck rosters caught nothing more than matching first and last names. And voters remain on the suspect list even when middle names, Social Security numbers and suffixes (Jr., Sr.) don’t match. Yet all these people — the list contains nearly seven million names — are subject to losing their vote.
The program’s method of identifying and purging voters especially threaten the registrations of minority voters who are vulnerable because African-American, Asian-American and Hispanics are 67 percent more likely than white voters to share America’s most common names: Jackson, Washington, Lee, Rodriguez and so on.”

In another depraved example of conservative “Christians” defending and making excuses for child molester Josh Duggar, a Texas pastor’s wife claimed that he was merely “playing doctor” with his sleeping sisters.
Carrie Hurd and her husband Pastor Patrick Hurd are card-carrying members of the Quiverfull movement and they have 11 children of their own to prove it.
In response to Vyckie Garrison, an outspoken critic of Quiverfull, Carrie Hurd used her husband’s Facebook page to defend Josh Duggar and actually suggested that the girls he molested were somehow to blame for his sickening actions.
“Vyckie, this is actually Pat’s wife, Carrie. You women want parity in the board room and you want equal wages all the way up the ladder, but when it comes to taking responsibility and being equal in other areas, it is always the man’s fault or responsibility. How many women bait, hit first, but are seldom arrested for abuse………….?”
Hurd then excused Duggar’s crimes and behavior as a mere game of “playing doctor” and claimed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did the right thing by covering up for their son.
“When I was a kid, it was often called “playing doctor”, there were just as many girls initiating this kind of behavior as boys. Most of those never went on to perp horrible things. The Duggers, who I have never watched–am not a fan, did it properly and the 14 year old boy should probably be left alone to live a good life, just like girls who do the same thing.”
Hurd concluded her rant by referring to Garrison as a troll and told her to go fight ISIS if she really opposes mistreatment of women and girls.
“You troll the news for any little Christian misbehavior. Get a life! Go to Iraq and fight ISIS if you are seriously worried about women being treated well by men and society.”

The Duggar child molestation scandal has already led to TLC kicking “19 Kids and Counting” off the air. And Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has jumped to Duggar’s defense on his own Facebook page. Even a judge Huckabee appointed as Governor of Arkansas ordered Josh Duggar’s police record be destroyed.
Since the scandal became public, conservative “Christians” have circled the wagons to protect one of their own from facing the consequences of his actions and hypocrisy.
And this latest revisionist account of what happened is just another attempt to cover up Dugger’s crimes. This is just another example of how desperate conservative “Christians” are to keep the public from seeing them as the sick hypocrites they really are under all that dogma.

In case anyone’s wondered why I haven’t posted in a long time it’s because I left Korea last month with no plans to return for anything other than a short visit to the in-laws.
Of course that’s a bit of a lie because I stopped posting well in advance of my physical exit. I guess I’d have to say it’s a combination of things:
*I don’t feel `the Drop recovered from the great hosting snafu last year, still no weekly finders? Dafuk.
*Getting burned out on the KBlog community I guess with the number of “visit worthy” sites down to like 2 or 3 it’s pretty repetitive. “Korea sucks!”, “No, you suck!”, “You’re an apologist!”, “You’re a whiney wae gook!”, wash, rinse, repeat.
*Don’t care for some of the executive decisions with this site. OP pretty much talks at everyone rather than with anyone for the most part. Makes no effort to rid the site of the worst KBlog troll I’ve seen in my time in the Dae Han, as long as TBone’s allowed to troll this site as he does it’ll be stuck on a virtual back alley of Iteawon next to a Nigerian website for Phone Cards.

I have been planning to restart the Korea Finders and they will be back. As far as how I write I mostly keep my postings neutral and let ROK Heads discuss like you would around the water cooler.
As far as trolls they are a constant problem on the Internet and I take the approach of ignoring them. Some people have even claimed Chickenhead and Leon are trolls. If you don’t like what they post just ignore it.
As far as the site hosting crash it is going to take time to build the site up within Google again to get the high search rankings I had on the old site. The high search rankings is what brought in so many random people that would add to the various discussions on the site.

Perhaps it sets a bad precedent in our Instant Compliance Police State, but it seems the cop should have let her finish her phone call in a minute or two and then speak with her again.
“Ma’am, I need to file a report on this, as I must on everything, but there is no trouble here. I’m sure this was a misunderstanding and this is the end of it all. I will speak with the other woman and make sure this is resolved with her as well. I do need your name for the report, but, as long as there is no problem in the future, this means nothing and it will be buried in a huge stack of reports on small issues like this that we generate every day. Now may I get you name, ma’am?”
The purpose of getting the name is to generate ownership of the event… which serves to modify future behavior.
Continued resistance to giving the name would require escalation.
“Ma’am, because it appears there may have been a minor crime committed, I am legally able to determine your identity. I would like to do this by asking your name. This is easier than arresting you and running your fingerprints down at the station. I would like to resolve this by filing a one paragraph incident report that will be forgotten by tomorrow instead of an arrest report that will follow you for life. I would like to protect and serve by offering you the easy way but I must do my job no matter which choice you take. Now, ma’am, can I simply get your name or do I need to arrest you and take you Downtown?”

For Scott Frakes, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, the April 14 e-mail was just what his department needed. “Just wanted to let you know [I] have a few states who have already ordered sodium thiopental,” the e-mail read. “Would Nebraska be interested as I will have a few thousand vials extra.” Like many states that use lethal injections in capital punishment, Nebraska has struggled to obtain the anesthetic, used to induce coma, because pharmaceutical companies don’t want their products associated with the death penalty.
Frakes, whose department has 10 prisoners on death row, replied on April 16: “I would really like to connect with you as soon as possible”; and later that day, he asked for an invoice, according to e-mails obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union of Nebraska in a Freedom of Information Act request. According to KETV Omaha, Nebraska paid Harris Pharma $54,400 for a “1000-unit” package of the drug, as well as a shipment of pancuronium bromide, a muscle relaxant also used in executions.”
