The pool photo released on Dec. 13, 2015, shows the new headquarters of the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) being built in Pyeongtaek, southeast of Seoul. USFK is moving its troops in Seoul and its vicinity to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, and officials said the relocation will be delayed to 2017 from 2016. Some 28,500 U.S. troops are stationed in South Korea to deter North Korea after the 1950-53 Korean War ended only in a truce instead of a peace treaty. (Yonhap)

Most moves delayed a lot longer than a year….
Ah…
…because nothing says serious warfighting headquarters like an all-glass building with a bonus metal plate designed to channel a carbomb right into the base of all structural supports.
I could be wrong; but I don’t think you can get a car bomb through the traffic near Camp Humpreys… A Vespa loaded with LPG, maybe; but not a car bomb…
Speaking of which, is the touristy-stuff shopping as good or better outside Camp Humphreys than outside Osan AB?
I may be back soon…
setnaffa,
IMO definitely not. Songtan is much better than Anjung-Ri. Not only for shopping, but for the larger number of restaurants, and bars/clubs as well.
@4- Setnaffa I have not been down to the Hump in three years so my information is a bit dated, but I prefer Songtan for shopping.
OT, but a little store outside the Camp Humphreys walkin gate just sold a winning lotto ticket this past Saturday, worth 1.1B won. I Ihope an American hit it.
That would have been a nice ticket, Andy. Could have paid my retirement expenses.
Thanks for the advice on shopping.
