I didn’t read anywhere in there where embarrassing behavior did anything but land two of our vessels in a situation where they shouldn’t have been. This crap about shooting the guy with his rifle is a load. He had no cause to shoot, he got them caught in waters they should’ve have been in. This is some straight-up Hillary-style deflection.
@Smokes, I was thinking the same thing reading this that this guy was considering shooting an Iranian who was doing his job intercepting these idiots who went into their waters. If there was anything he did right in this embarrassing escapade it was that he did not get anyone killed.
Exactly. His poor leadership and seamanship got them to that point. They should never have been there. And since he was in command, the Letter of Reprimand seems well-earned and a bit light.
