Once again, I get first crack at this. Okay then. What does everyone think of the election coming up on Tuesday in the States? (Wednesday morning here in Asia). Personally, I had a dream a few nights ago that I was sitting in front of my TV as the news came in that Trump had won the election. I cheered and then woke up. Is this a premonition or just wishful thinking on my part? I know this year’s election has been credited as being a “lesser of two evils” one but I think that the country would be in great danger if “crooked Hillary” gets elected. With all the scandal and baggage that comes along with the Clinton family, I think the country would be in grave danger. Agree, disagree or agree to disagree? What do you think?

Many people, even republicans, have tried to frame it as lesser of two evils but I find myself agreeing with almost everything Trump says. I think a lot of other people do as well, whether they will admit to it or not.
I could be wrong about this, but I think the DNC and corporate interests have overplayed their hand this election in picking an absolutely unpalatable candidate. There was enough evidence of her corruption and warmongering before wikileaks started dropping. Now, if people are paying attention and bothering to go outside the media just a little bit, there is an avalanche of information to verify what most already suspected or knew.
I don’t know if Trump will be a successful agent for change, or if he even honestly intends to be. I just know there is no chance of her being one. This seems to be a common sentiment among the people.
Has anyone seen any mass protests outside Trump rallies lately? I wonder if any of those protesters have flipped. Or maybe the bird dogging money just ran out.
I think whoever wins the country will survive another four years. With that said if Clinton wins I do not see how she even runs for a 2nd term much less get elected with the amount of criminal baggage currently circling around her. If Trump wins I hope we have the more moderated version of Trump we have seen the past two weeks.

If Clinton wins … it will be 4-8 years of the same ol’ same ol’ in America – which is not good. If Trump wins, I don’t know what will happen – but I am sure it won’t be 4-8 years of the same ol’ same ol’. And with that – I’m willing to take a chance on him.
I think once the cat was out of the bag (that protestors are paid Hillary supporters), they stopped protesting.
I have a friend who attended one Trump rally a few weeks ago. He said and there was no way to get in, the line stretched so far out. He watched as a news team ran around trying to find protestors. There was one couple standing next to him (a couple of men, very obviously homosexual and wearing rainbow tee shirts). The news team ran up to them, and asked them why they were there. One of the guys said they were there to support Trump, and started to give an impassioned speech about the Orlando shooting, as the news team cut him off and went the other way.
Liz, good point about the anti-Trump protesters. You sure don’t hear much about them anymore after they were exposed as being paid protesters. The challenge for Trump is that those long lines and crowds to see his rallies need to translate into votes. I am not sure if his crowds are really die hard supporters or just people curious to see a celebrity.
I feel there is a good possibility that a lot of Americans feel the same way as you do.
I worry that if he actually is a true change candidate that there will be enough manipulation in the election process to sway it her way. The polling seemingly defies reality and could be an attempt to prime the public for a fixed result.
Not that I am a pollster, but from what I can tell the way the data is being massaged for some of these polls is laughable and doesn’t reflect the voting population accurately, all in an attempt to make it look like a tie or have her up by one or 2 points.
Nothing can be ruled out as there are probably a lot of elites who stand to lose a lot of money or influence if he gets in. Attempts on his life or curious accidents wouldn’t surprise me at this point. Makes me hope Pence is on the level and would follow through with real beneficial change should anything befall Trump.

If the fielding of Trump and Clinton aren’t enough for Americans to finally break free of the Rep/Dem ping-pong game then really what is? I’m seriously embarrassed to be a part of this nation right now. Everyone go back to watching some form of entertainment because that’s what’s important. The mob of the republic lives on in the USA.
Deep down, most people really couldn’t handle more than 2 parties. It would require them taking an active interest in politics and studying positions and history. It’s obvious from this election that a lot of people can’t handle that.
Trump may be a bad political candidate in the traditional sense, but he might be the last, best chance for our country to get back to handling its core responsibilities and cutting out a lot of the bullshiit. Because of some of his positions, he could represent an opportunity that voters haven’t realistically had in decades, and likely never will have again.
No one can know for sure if he will follow through with anything of substance, but if he could or would, I believe most of his key policies would result in net gains for the average person.
While my guy lost I think the Lib party’s got a shot at getting 5% of the vote which opens up some avenues for them to get their act together and do more effective campaigns in the future.
Not thrilled Trump won but man am I #$%^& ecstatic Hillary lost!
Hopefully last night all the Hollywood clown pundits got together in a cry circle, drank the Kool-Aid, and had simultaneous heart attacks. King Stewart, Queen Bee, Prince Colbert, and the rest can all go F themselves. 😆
I agree with you about the Hollyweird elite. No more influence buying for them! A strategy that worked so well for her husband, celebrity endorsements, backfired on her.
Setnaffa – Didn’t forget them. I was just so ready to post it that I wanted to do it as soon as Trump had enough to clear the Blue Wall. He sort of pole vaulted over it. Hehehe
Of all the stupid ridiculous things to do. Are they seriously wasting Korean tax won’s on a F’ing Pororo Theme Park under the guise of “a complex in which visitors can learn about Korea’s modern and contemporary history as well as the importance of national security.”
Who would travel all the way to South Korea and go up north to grimy Uijeongbu to visit a park devoted to some kids commercial product? Disgraceful. ❗
My wife looked this up in the Korean press and she says this project is being looked at for probably corruption linked to Choi Sun Shil… so yeah there’s that too.
“Trump said he would like to keep the provision forbidding discrimination based on pre-existing conditions and to allow young Americans to remain on their parents’ healthcare plans.”
Sooo… would you prefer he scrapped the better parts of Obamacare when he got rid of the crappy parts?
Or do you think keeping the useful parts while improving the misguided ones is a better option?
I sometimes wonder how people go through life living in absolutes.
Have you been to Uijongbu in the last ten years or so? The downtown area is looking more and more like Myongdong every day. There hasn’t been a ville outside of Camp Red Cloud for going on 20 years. It’s actually blossoming into a nice small city. It doesn’t specifically say this, but I would imagine they are going to target Korean tourists and not so much foreign tourists. It’s a very easy subway ride up there and back from Seoul – so it’s actually very well situated.
Last worked up at CRC in 2012 and the area around the base is split between the semi-mountainous rural folk out back, the cramped not-so-old hood on the side by the stadium, and the completely rundown one out in front.
To say the whopping 1 1/2 block radius Shin Saegi built up for their tower of way overpriced wares next to UJB Station is looking anything like Myeong Dong either means you’ve been hitting the pipe, are on the Uiejongbu board of Corruption and Bribery, or you’re suffering from nostalgia.
Why would Koreans want to go there? The K2 crowd would either get off early at Dobong or head further north to Soyo. Lake fishing’s done NE by Inje, and shopping’s done in Seoul or Pocheon if you want to hit the outlets. GO ask a Korean “Hey, want to go to Uijeongbu?!” and look at the face they give you, that international look of “Uhhh why?”
Well, of course the area around CRC looks like a dump – it always has. And it’s isolated in its own little area and basically separate from the rest of the city. I’m specifically referring to the redeveloped downtown area. You say Uijongbu looks grimy and reverting a crappy part of the city into a theme park is disgraceful – I say it looks way better than it used to and it reminds me of a nice area in Seoul now. And adding that theme park to go along with the places that you mentioned along with places like Songchu will only further bring Uijongbu out of the backwoods. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Bottom line is – Koreans like to get the phuck outta of Seoul on weekends. To get to somewhere decent usually requires a long drive and often times that’s in gridlock traffic. Uijongbu is a nice option that is relatively close to Seoul and is readily accessible by both car and subway/train from Seoul. And the more options available in Uijongbu, the more popular it will become.
I’m still trying to remember why I uppercased “GO”… surely a typo.
Uijeongbu for the most part is grimy, arguably CRC is the best kept chunk of land it has. UJB has no significant park to speak of, it’s your typical Korean urban cluster-F jammed into a forested ravine. An open park sprinkled with the required facilities on the plot that CRC sits would be something even Seoul couldn’t boast. The only thing they have on that scale are golf courses.
Failing that (which is nearly assured) anything other than more K-Poop and Pororo.

Trump Optimism Propels Dow to Best Week in Five Years

Don’t really watch the big numbers cause despite what Ole Tanker believes; government employees don’t sleep on mattresses stuffed with $1000’s.
Since the markets are already compensating for the election of Ye Olde Trumpe it would appear it’s time for people to as well. 😉
