The current situation in South Korea reminds me of a Fleetwood Mac lyric, “Rock on Gold Dust Woman, take your silver spoon, and dig your grave. It seems that as time goes on Park Geun-Hye is going to be blamed for all the ills of South Korean society and maybe, just maybe, she had something to do with the Kennedy assassination???? Hahahahahaha.

A normal Chicago night: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=30b_1481434060
I try to imagine how life would be in Seoul, if everyone had guns (or not to sound racist, but if a race were killing each other here, like Blacks do in the US)

“I try to imagine how life would be in Seoul, if everyone had guns”

There are LOTS ot guns in Korea.

It just isn’t fashionable to use or show them.

Trump complains costs are ‘out of control’ for F-35 fighter jets

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2016/12/12/trump-complains-costs-control-f-35-fighter-jets-assembled-fort-worth

“The F-35 program and cost is out of control,” Trump tweeted. “Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20th.”

Um… The F-35 costs ARE out of control. Well known problem within the military community.
Lockheed-Martin is trying to see the jet as an “all things to all people” platform, but so far it is turning out to be a boondoggle.

Plus the Chinese seem to have already stolen most of the plans, as the J-31 is a near carbon copy of the F-35.
http://www.defenseone.com/threats/2015/09/more-questions-f-35-after-new-specs-chinas-copycat/121859/

The cost overruns, and poor CAS ability of the F-35 ended up giving a new lease on life to the venerable A-10 Warthog.

There is a go / no-go point in every project where aborting it or overhauling it is more costly than going forward with what you’ve got. The F-35 may have passed that point.

SEOUL, South Korea — A South Korean court on Tuesday sentenced a former senior prosecutor to four years in prison for pressuring a Korean Air executive to channel about 14.7 billion won ($12 million) in corporate deals to a contractor run by his brother-in-law.

Yet another PR disaster for Winter Olympics: ‘It’s you, PyeongChang’

Look, I get that English is a tough language. But come on! Ask a native speaker if the motto makes any sense before putting in a production order.

MTB, don’t blame them for “It’s you, PyeongChang”

They DID ask a native speaker.

But… hell… I was coming down off a three day drunk and hung over sonething fierce when they started pestering me about it.

Look at the bright side. If there hadn’t been a guy on the English slogan selection team who went to a hogwon two summer vacations in a row, they might have taken my first suggestion, “It’s PyeongChang, motherfukkers!”

I probably would have gone with “I Choose You, PyongChangachu!” myself.

Because the area not directly near Yongsan in Seoul is pristine. 🙄

Don’t know if anyone is keeping up with this but the rhetoric is getting scary.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/15/politics/obama-russia-hacking-election/index.html

President Barack Obama on Thursday vowed retaliatory action against Russia for its meddling in the US presidential election.

“I think there is no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections that we need to take action and we will at a time and place of our own choosing,” Obama told National Public Radio.

Describing potential countermeasures by the US, the President said “some of it may be explicit and publicized; some of it may not be.”

Meanwhile, less reported is Wikileaks’ founder, Julian Assange’s denial that the leaks came from any foreign government. A former British ambassador and Wikileaks associate claims he flew to D.C. to meet with a disaffected Democrat insider who passed the leaks to him.

It’s hard to believe that after how bad the media was exposed this election cycle that they would still try to push propaganda for the Obama government.

Like he really got to the bottom of that VA scandal. Like he made sure there were red lines in Syria.

Did anyone see China seized a U.S. Navy underwater drone in the South China Sea recently? I thought I’d see something about that here…
