Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST), North Korea’s first privately funded university, is recruiting English teachers.
The school is receiving applications from candidates in dozens of countries, many of which are ironically non-English speaking countries such as South Korea, China and Japan
“Preference is given to candidates who have a long-term mindset and are open to staying at PUST for a number of years,” the university says in its recruiting message on http://www.heysuccess.com , a British recruiting website.
“English teachers are required to commit to an entire 15-week semester. The spring semester begins in early March and finishes in mid-June. The fall semester begins in early September and finishes in mid-December.”
Detailed working conditions such as salary and welfare are unknown.
The university says the ideal candidate will be an “energetic, responsible, and well-qualified professional teacher with relevant English teaching experience.” It It says an English teaching qualification (TEFL/ CELTA/ TESOL) is also highly preferred.
Successful applicants are supposed to have a campus-based lifestyle, meaning they may not be allowed to travel outside the campus.
All our special candidate needs to do is finish his current sentence, and apply! I’m sure several of us would be willing to write him a glowing letter of recommendation.
@MTB Rider, maybe he can put on a work release program because taking this job in North Korea is about the equivalent of a jail sentence since you can’t leave the campus.

LTG. H.R. McMaster has been appointed as National Security Adviser. He was awarded the Silver Star in the Battle of 73 Easting. He was Armor Cavalry. A man who understands the nature of warfare, bodes well for the future Armor Force. I was hoping he would get it. 😎
@Ole Tanker, yes I to was happy to see McMasters get the nod. I think the resignation of Mike Flynn ends up being an overall win for Trump because McMasters I think is a great outside the box thinker who does not have the political baggage or polarizing personality of Flynn.
However, expect the media to be critical of the pick by saying the government is getting to “militarized”.
The media wonders why Trump supporters dislike them so much:
This Presidents Day, as thousands prepare to swarm the streets for anti-administration rallies, President Donald Trump has reached his 32nd day in office, and will soon surpass the record for the shortest term in the Oval Office.
That unfortunate honor rests with William Henry Harrison, the ninth president of the United States, who died from pneumonia just 32 days into his presidency, on April 4, 1841.
James Garfield, who was assassinated after only 7 months in office in 1881, is the second-shortest-serving president.
Interestingly, throughout his campaign for the White House, the Democratic Party attempted to portray Harrison, decorated military officer and longtime politician, as elderly and out of touch with the Americans, according to White House historians.
At the time the 65-year-old Harrison was our country’s oldest president. Trump, elected at 70, now holds that title. [NBC News]
On top of this article this weekend there have been other articles posted about a historian predicting that Trump will have the second shortest Presidency in history.
Could you imagine what the outcry would be if fox example Fox News shortly after the inauguration of Barack Obama ran an article like this basically hoping that the President be assassinated or impeached?
People in the media are confused. I blame celebrity, reporters rarely make it to broadcast and all you see are the talking heads.
They use the term MSM in the 3rd person when it obviously applies to them. All the organizations do it, reference the MSM like it’s all the other ones except them (FOX, CNN, etc.). Here’s a tip, if you have a multi-gazillion dollar entity that broadcasts on the air, you are the MSM.
This is a broader version of the trick they use to report on something that’s obviously being over-reported by not reporting on it but by reporting on the possibility that it’s being over-reported.
The other big issue is that they’re confusing Freedom of Press with Freedom of (from)Scrutiny. You can’t push narratives and agendas while running click-bait and theming your broadcasts in a clearly entertainment-based manner and call yourself news reporters. Even the former King of Liberalica his highness Jon Stewart called them out on it repeatedly. If you wish protections of press you need to behave like press, not like a talk show.
As long as POTUS refrains from taking a position that pits the press against the people I don’t have an issue with him voicing displeasure. Saying they’re the enemy of the people would not be doing that and he needs to scale it back some.
Actually, PUST has an interesting history and was started by a Korean-American professor named Kim Chin Kyung (AKA James Kim) who first set up a similar school in China (in the autonomous Korean region). Professor Kim worked it out with Kim Jong Il to set up a similar school in Pyongyang. All teaching at PUST is conducted in English.
My wife bought a few pots there last summer. Price seemed kind of high, but we really didn’t have a basis of comparison. A few months later we were driving out in the country and passed a place selling pots and stopped by. The pots cost only a fraction of what the lady at the kimchi pot gate charged. I’m not saying we got ripped off, because I know everything costs more in Seoul and she kind of has the market cornered there. But for what my wife payed for two pots near the gate – she bought six or seven pots at the country place.

Racism played a role in Flint water crisis, says state report
@Denny basically you have an organization trying to blame racism for the water crisis as an excuse for the people who ran the city all these years:
“We strongly believe that the actions that led to the poisoning of Flint’s water and the slow response resulted in the abridgement of civil rights for the people of Flint,” said Arthur Horwitz, co-chair of the Commission during the time of the investigation. “We are not suggesting that those making decisions related to this crisis were racists, or meant to treat Flint any differently because it is a community of color. Rather, the response is the result of implicit bias and the history of systemic racism that was built into the foundation of Flint.”
What you never here is that the city has historically been run by Democrats who were responsible for creating the water crisis. Easier to blame racism than failed Democratic leadership.
@Smokes, I agree Trump took it a little too far because if some crazy guy attacks a journalist now for whatever reason they will blame Trump for inciting violence. Listening to the news reports it just seems the media is gleefully hoping this happens.
I hit that clickbait looking for a captivating story of intrigue and exposure amid the dirty business of underground kimchee pot sales and military corruption that allows it to flourish.
Instead, I got some uplifting tripe about a dilligent woman working herself out of poverty by selling kimchee pots outside a gate.
I love the title:

When I walk onto the lady’s room dressed as a lady, none them mfukkers say shyt.
I whip ouy my lady package and give it a couple helicopter twirls.
Any y’all got something to say about this? No? Thought not. Now get back to class, you little biatches. Recess is about over.
In other news, the media has spun this as if Trump has taken away “rights”.
While in the great scheme of things, it probably doesn’t matter which bathroom someone uses… and trannys aren’t much overlapping with the pedo demographic…
…but a large percentage of the population don’t want their daughters in a stall next to a lazy tranny standing up to pee.
This is kinda understandable.
Trump did not “take away rights” but simply returned this decision to states… as he is rightfully doing with many other things.
He also included language for schools to insure that trannys are not bullied.
The federal government needs to be in the business of border protection, defense, international trade, and a few other things… and sray out of fretting over bathroom micromanagement.
And a wonderful teaching opportunity just opened up for one of ROK Drop’s favorite English Teachers!

Knowledgeable guy, very approachable and one of the few senior officers I met who was able to hold normal conversations.

Interesting article about Kim Chi Pot Gate:

It’s a little old, but I had always wondered what that was all about, and why the Army let her stack her pots there.

Heh watch it’ll come out years from now she was a DPRK agent and had all kinds of surveillance equipment hidden in the pots. 🙂
McMasters will be The Hand but Bannon will be there in the role of Littlefinger.
Then, Trump must be the Middle Finger! 😎

What the hell is wrong with you people?
Sorry… I’ll find some Tranny Stories for you later. 😉
Woooo.. tranny stories!
It is hard to go wrong with tranny stories.
Find one about a sneaky uncle that made them dress as a girl.
And don’t short me on the anal warts.
Here is a tranny story for Chickenhead. I guess Chickenhead is no longer able to just walk into whatever bathroom he identifies with that day. 😉
