President Trump Enjoys “Taco Tuesday” with Troops At Camp Humphreys

This had to have been a pretty neat experience for the soldiers that attended this lunch with President Trump:

U.S. troops who had lunch with President Donald Trump on Tuesday at a military base in South Korea say he told them there was no place he’d rather be.

Trump and his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in joined 108 hand-picked servicemembers, including 20 South Koreans, for Taco Tuesday at a Camp Humphreys dining facility.

Pvt. Merion Holmes, 21, of Georgetown, S.C., said he was honored to see the president in person and found Trump’s words motivating.

“He said he’d rather eat with the troops than at a fancy restaurant,” Holmes told Stars and Stripes after the president’s 20-minute appearance. “It made me feel like he cared.”

Trump flew to Humphreys in a helicopter shortly after landing at Osan Air Base on Tuesday to begin his visit to South Korea, the second leg of his first official visit to Asia.  [Stars & Stripes]

You can read more at the link, but of significance is that ROK President Moon Jae-in made a surprise visit to Camp Humphreys as well to have lunch with President Trump.  This is reportedly the first time a ROK President has greeted a visiting foreign leader outside of Cheongwadae.

Looks like Trump cant resist a pre-planned, and completely pointless photo op…He could at least act like he wanted to be there…What a shit for brains president.

Were Trump’s companions at lunch volunteers or were they voluntold?

Was kind of stuck doing these in Iraq, you don’t really get “voluntold” but we had so few enlisted at the settings we were doing them in they would have us NCO’s hop in as seat-fillers off to the side and back.

The major ones for POUTS and such, no shortage of people who wanted to do it.

The reason I asked about volunteer or voluntold, is an experience I had when I was working in a unified command HQs. VP Dick Cheney was visiting to make a speech and we were told if we wanted to hear him to be in the hangar 90 minutes early. Evidently, not too many people were there because all the division chiefs were told to send five of their people ASAP, whether wanted to attend or not….

Well yeah I imagine not too many people would be looking forward to standing around waiting 90 minutes just to hear Cheney blather for an additional 45. Unless they were handing out tomatoes at the door.

I still celebrate “taco tuesday”…

…but in a more intimate setting.

Though it really depends on her mood.

I find having the kitchen clean when she gets home from work to be a good start.

Can’t imagine there would be a lack of troops wanting to eat lunch with the President. Much less tacos.

Anyways, I thought you guys might find this amusing:

“Liberals:
I am going to speak for all veterans for just a moment.

1) We didn’t enlist because we were poor, stupid, or lacked opportunities. You like to think that because it makes you feel superior, but that’s not the case. We enlisted because we have a love of country and a willingness to sacrifice.

2) We are overwhelmingly Republican, so stop trying to turn us into talking points or props for your agenda, which we do not agree with.

3) To expound on number 2 above, the closer you get to the tip of the spear, the more right-leaning we become. So, that former supply sergeant who you turn to as a “Liberal veteran” is not a good representative of our ranks. Basically, everyone who is continually putting themselves in harm’s way is the polar opposite of you when it comes to core beliefs. Show me a card carrying liberal democrat in special operations, and I’ll show you what is either a case of stolen valor, or the guy everyone else hates, and we’ve probably thrown his shit out into the hallway.

4) We all knew what we were getting into. (Remember when I said that we weren’t stupid?). So don’t put our pictures on the news and pretend we were counting the days until we could take our college money and leave, and that we had no idea that the military exists to fight wars. We aren’t victims, not even of politicians. Oh, and on the subject of that, your democrat politicians tend to kill way more of us for dumber reasons than do Republicans.

5) We did what we did so that you can be free to naively judge us, complain about the manner in which we kept you safe, be a wussy playing a kid’s game for $500,000 a year and give us the finger, glorify traitors like Manning who gave away footage of how we operate to our enemies so they can better kills us, and just all around live your worthless sponge lives where you continually ask for the government, and for us, to do more for you, while at the same time, making it palatable so you don’t feel guilty for being a self-obsessed turd living off of the labors of others. In other words: You’re welcome.
