Mobilizing online opinions had a lot to do with organizing the protest movement against the previous Conservative government. Why the South Korean conservative opposition is up in arm is this. The “Druking” bloggist had a considerable influence in organizing political support for the Moon Jae-In government. This is not unlike how Roh Moo Hyun in 2002, got elected miraculously. At that time, Roh was losing the election until the online opinions were mobilized amongst the younger generation to bring him into power. Now it looks like this scandal is revealing itself into a bigger question as to how much online manipulation was there to give support for the Moon’s election 2017. They have now linked Druking’s activities with spreading of online rumors and fake stories on Ban Ki Moon when he decided to run for South Korea’s presidency. Ban eventually decided to drop out of the presidential race due to all the fake stories on him. In one of the KaoKao chats, between Minjoo party official and Druking, the Minjoo party official wrote to Druking, “nobody should suspect any link to the Minjoo party”, basically asking Druking to be careful not to show any link to the Minjoo party.
If the Moon’s government was able to manipulate the elections through mass online manipulations of public opinions, I wonder what role they played in bringing down Park Guen Hye. Remember, she was accused of holding shamanistic ceremonies during the Sewol ship sinking, getting a plastic surgery, and having an affair during the time when the ship was sinking. All stories turned out to be fake stories that played a significant factor in bringing down Park.
It was all part of the soft coup to put commie moon in power, run by and out of nK to put their man in power. Arrest the traitor.
His crooked cops already tried to bury the Druking story.
As far as Ban Ki-moon he quit the Presidential election because of fake news about him. It seems to me if he could not handle fake news he cannot handle being the President of South Korea when he would have to constantly deal with fake news put out by the opposition as we saw with former President Park.
This fake news is nothing new either when we consider all the online anti-US fake news put out over the years by the Korean left. The amount of fake news put out over the 2002 armored vehicle accident was astounding and helped get Roh Moo-hyun elected. Fake news almost took out Lee Myung-bak in 2008 with the anti-US beef protests.
Fake news also turned public opinion in Seongju against THAAD.
