President Moon Appoints Special Counsel to Investigate Druking Scandal
|Does anyone think this will be a fair and transparent investigation or is the fix in?:
President Moon Jae-in appointed a special counsel Thursday to investigate a opinion rigging scandal that involves one of his confidants.
Moon named prosecutor-turned-lawyer Huh Ik-Bum as a special prosecutor, his office Cheong Wa Dae said.
The appointment came three days after Huh was named one of two candidates by opposition parties as required by the law on the special counsel.
“President Moon will present special counsel Huh with a certificate of appointment on Friday,” Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom told a press briefing. [Yonhap]
You can read more at the link, but the special counsel has 90 days to report their findings.
This will just be to bury the case and put everything on Druking.
Conveniently timed too. It’s before the election, so Moon can say he played fair and named a special prosecutor before the election — but so close to the election that the guy will just be getting started by the time the election takes place this coming Wednesday and nothing will have become of this yet, so it won’t have any effect on the outcome of the elections.
@Guitard, also remember that right before the election they made sure to make allegations that the conservative party was the ones that gave Druking the software with no evidence to support it. I will be surprised if any of Moon’s buddies get jail time for any of this.
I have always said that Moon has the same ideology as Roh Moo-hyun, but he is way more politically smarter. This is just another example of this.
