A flight of South Korean F-4 fighters puts on an air show above Wolmi Island off Incheon, west of Seoul, on Sept. 14, 2018, to rehearse for an event the next day to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation in the 1950-53 Korean War. The 1950 operation, commanded by U.S. Gen. Douglas MacArthur, turned the tide of the war against the invading North Korea. (Yonhap)

That Korea is still flying these museum pieces is an excellent example of Korea counting on daddy warbucks to take of them. Time for Korea to pay for their own defense, if they don’t want to the US certainly shouldn’t.
Korea still uses UH-1H Hueys, M-48A4 Patton tanks, and their reservist still train with Korean War-era M1/M2 .30 cal carbine rifles, so keeping the F-4 Phantom up and running is just par for the course since they can self-manufacture spare parts for pennies on the dollar.
Given what the Norks have to offer, F-4s are probably enough.
Plus if Moon wants to surrender, we don’t need to equip Fatty with the good stuff.
