And Canada got in trouble with China because of the US spat with China. Instead of helping Canada, the US backstabs Canada who’s left holding the bag facing China’s wrath.

Why does this sound so familiar? Remember THAAD situation when China boycotted South Korea? The US support for South Korea was nowhere to be found. Instead Trump demanded South Korea pay for THAAD deployment, while Trump and Xi got along just fabulously when those two met in Washington.

Canada should just take care of themselves first by looking out for their own interests (just as what the US is doing), and release this Chinese woman.

Setnaffa, the entity who really is incompetent is Donald Trump. What the Canadian judge must decide when he decides on whether this Chinese woman gets extradited to the US, will decide on the motive of her arrest. What Trump has done is that he suggested that the warrant against her was politically motivated when he said that he would personally get involved and free the Chinese if that will help the US in trade with China. This means that the US is using her as a bargaining chip. That’s what Trump has done, undermining the US case in the Candian court.

There’s no point in Canada to be used by the US. Why should they allow themselves to get hurt when the US is not backing up Canada, and instead have only indicated that they’re using Canada to get to China? Has the US made any comments saying that they stand by Canada and that the US is appalled at what China is doing? Nope. Just like how the US stood back and watched South Korea getting grilled by the Chinese over THAAD.

The Americans are just in it for themselves. So it will be wise for everyone else to do whatever they can to protect their own interests, not the US interests.

Setnaffa, there’s a good chance that the Canadian judge will free the Chinese woman, due to Trump’s comment that suggest US motives as political. That’s going to torpedo the US case against her. The Canadian court is a rule of law, they examine evidence to conclude the case. The Trump comments will be used by the defense lawyer of the Chinese which will undermine the prosecution side.
The US did a good job shooting itself in the foot.
