Tweet of the Day: Racist Colonial Oppression by Japan?
|This is so anti-Black and imperialist, I can't even. In fact, I'd argue that K-pop, esp the inclusion of rap, is in many ways Koreans adapting Black musical forms as a reaction to their own experiences with racist colonial oppression by Japan. https://t.co/RL1b3ffpxS

It’s always Japan’s fault.
Is there a way to translate this for an old man that doesn’t get butt hurt every time the wind blows? Eh, I’ll crawl back in my cave now….
It’s understandable she’d make the mistake that K-Poop must have come from America and not Japan because she’s a twatter a-hole.
Heh I just peeked in there and saw people put their degrees after their names on that site, twatter is really the worst thing on the internet.
I’d argue that K-pop, esp the inclusion of square dance calling and auctioneering, is in many ways Koreans adapting cowboy vocal forms as a reaction to their own experiences with developmental herding by Japan.
Looking at Chanda’s Twitter page, I can’t tell if she’s white-splaining, black-splaining, or joo-splaining…
In any event, trying to foist her artificial neocolonialist structured ideas on asians is actually racist, much like the way the Democrat President handled Japan and Korea in WW2.
I read the feed and I think she is trying to say credit is really due to both Black and White Ameriacan music which gave birth to the genre, and then was far later copied by Japanese bands. The article basically was claiming the R&B, rap, pop aspect of Kpop is the result of the Japanese inventing the genre.
