|Why should anyone be surprised by this?:
North Korea has been working to protect its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities from military strikes, according to UN monitors.

Citing a confidential report drafted by UN sanction monitors, Reuters on Monday said the group “found evidence of a consistent trend on the part of North Korea to disperse its assembly, storage and testing locations.”
The North Korean mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the 300-page report, which was submitted to a 15-member UN Security Council sanctions committee on Friday.
What did the UN expect, Kim Jong-un to lay out his missile and nuclear facilities and equipment in a big open field with an X marks the spot for easy targeting by the US? Of course the North Koreans are going to disperse and then harden all their facilities, they would be fools not to.
Position improvement never stops. Always thought the US did a really poor job of this with all the vehicles dress right dress in the motor pools.
Flyingsword – Read a fiction book written during the Cold War about the Russians attacking from East Germany. At the same time mercenaries were attacking the motor pools at Fort Hood TX. To practice they set up mock-ups of the Fort Hood motor pools and practiced cutting through the fence and dropping thermite grenades in top of each engine. I was stationed there when I read it and the motor pools were exactly as described in the book.
Given the nature of the nork regime, their paranoiac destruction of anyone with initiative, their tight, miserly grip on control, and the extremely small circle of friends Kim Fatty III seems to have, this is all showmanship.
The nork leadership cannot be spread very thin, as they don’t trust each other. There cannot be many redundant command and control facilities for the same reason. And this is a strategic weakness. They are very brittle.
If we know where the “cadre” may be found, we don’t need to strike their weapons. We may, if this is like a book I read, already have started negotiations with the 2nd tier for their golden retirement after a coup…
