Sitting outside an Old Navy store while Mrs. Setnaffa shops, I turned on the WiFi Analyzer app and noticed right away how congested the space is.
I understand the desire to find a niche; but anyone in the US who chooses a channel for their AP other than 1, 6, or 11 is either incompetent, unfriendly, or downright malicious.
Looking at you, Spectrum and Time-Warner-Cable… on channels 4 and 9… stepping on everyone else…
