Professor Claims that Korean TV Personality Robert Holley is Being Framed By Dirty Cops

Here is a strange story of a Mormon missionary turned international lawyer and Korean citizen arrested for using drugs in South Korea:

Robert Holley is escorted to Suwon Nambu Police Station, Tuesday, after being questioned at the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency over allegations of using illegal drugs. Yonhap

Mark Peterson, professor emeritus at Brigham Young University in Utah, claimed Tuesday that popular TV personality Robert Holley, known by the Korean name Ha Il, who was arrested for allegedly using methamphetamine, was the victim of “dirty” Korean cops.

In a posting on historian Robert Neff’s Facebook, Peterson, a Korea Times columnist, wrote: “Rob’s a friend of mine. The police have been dogging him for about a year because another entertainer who is guilty has accused Rob as a way of lightening his own sentence.

“Rob refutes every accusation, and the police will not give it up. Several months ago they gave him a clean bill of health, but they will not give up. Rob doesn’t do drugs ― he doesn’t even drink. This isn’t a drug story; it’s a dirty cop story.”

Peterson spoke similarly to Yonhap News over the phone.

He was quoted as saying that police didn’t have any evidence and forced Holley, 58, to make a confession.

You can read more at the link, but Holley supposedly tested positive for drugs after doing a urinalysis and they have evidence of him depositing money to a drug dealers account. This seems like pretty damning evidence to me.

Wasn’t there. Don’t know the guy. Not sure I’ve seen him on TV. But there are cases in recent South Korean history of political persecution and revenge prosecution. Not trying to say that’s happening here. Someone suggested he was covering for his son, which would be stupid since the son, if an addict, will re-offend.

Sudaphed (i.e., pseudoephedrine) and many other things can cause a false positive. https://addictionresource.com/drug-testing/false-positive-drug-test/

They’re also trying to smear him as gay. Which, whether he is or not, should be his choice to “come out” about. https://www.allkpop.com/article/2019/04/robert-holley-allegedly-injected-drugs-with-a-boyfriend

I wonder how he feels about having given up his US Citizenship (1998?) at this point in his career.

OK.

It seems the evidence is against him.

But…

Korean cops are dirty motherfuckers… pieces of complete shit. I wish death on all of them.

I recently paid a big bribe to Korean cops. I could have fought this… tried to expose it… but if there is one thing I learned from Lt. Jason Davis it is that dirty cops and their superiors cover for each other… the outsider will always lose… and that goes double for a round-eye… so it is better (in the long run) to pay and move on.

So I paid. And I moved on.

But I cannot forgive or forget.

Fuck Korea and fuck Korean cops. And fuck Koreans because everyone (including my wife) excused the process.

And it actually makes sense in a corrupt third world shitbaggy way.

And it isn’t just this time. Last year, I had a legal issue that didn’t even involve me but I got roped into it because the cops lied… probably because it was easier to blame a foreigner. Everybody knew the cops lied. Everybody knew I was not involved. I budgeted 5 million won to fight it in court.

Out of kindness, the court arranged arbitration twice. The first time, I told everyone to go fuck themselves… see you in court, bitches. They kindly scheduled arbitration again. By that time, everyone around me begged me to settle… and explained it was not about truth or justice. I realized the situation was lost… and I paid 160,000w to a lying shitbag whose father was a friend of the head of the police station. Lesson learned.

So, when a pair of (completely unrelated) cops requested a bribe and threatened to lie (together with the same story) if I contested, I already knew where it would go.

A really rich and powerful 25 year friend of mine laughed and gave me two words of wisdom.

1. Any problem you can solve with money isn’t really a problem.

2. If you aren’t being sued by somebody or hassled by the government in some way, you are nobody… so welcome to the upper level of society.

I would rather be left alone than achieve some imaginary social status milestone.

Fuck.
