Frankly, my current period of unemployment is wearing on my nerves a bit. Oh, I have a job offer; but it’s dependent on a government contract that is being desputed by the losing bidders.
I have completed Cybersecurity training, thanks to the TAA, and one of the three certifications, so the last several months have not been entirely idle between applying and interviewing; but one needs to get out of the house more often as time goes by, and the last two certs really want me buried in the books and online labs.
If any of you wanted to go to the shopping outside Osan AB and wander around with a camera so I could see what I’m missing, I’d be grateful…
I stepped away from posting anything about North Korea for many years. Just getting back into looking what is going on in the Korea blogosphere. Since I was mostly rehashing what others were saying, I will leave it to those who know what they are talking about.

I would love to hook you up but I am busy with a more exciting photography project documenting the entire line of 2013 Oldsmobiles through interpretive dance of homeless people.
Protip: Whatever you have in your imagination is far better than current reality.
Let it go.

LOL. I guess I will concede a point to CH; however, since Oldsmobile shut down in 2004, I am wondering what kind of 2013 models our good friend has in mind…
Or maybe that’s the point. 💡 💡 💡
Interpretive dance is another topic I stay away from, kinda like ordering fish at Denny’s…

As a bit of a news hound, I noticed Korean TV news never mention USFK helping with the fire in Sokcho. The fire got a lot of coverage but (from what my and I saw) never mentioned help from the US.
During their meeting, Moon thanked Trump for help with the fire and Korean news covered the talk (the thank you just happened to be in there – it’s not like the news gave it special mention). But this was a week after the fire and old news by then. Whether that was all a calculated move or not is anybody’s guess.
It was also reported this week that Koreans have to pay for USFK’s laundry. It was a quickly covered story and hard to follow but the message was Koreans were upset having to pay for US forces laundry. I looked around for printed/online news on the topic but couldn’t find any. Left me wondering what we’re being set up for now.

Laundry!? What laundry? Army hasn’t done Quartermaster services since the 80’s with the exception of some TRADOC installations where it was limited to IET units. The only place I can think of on any USFK installation that has a need for laundry services is the hotels and hospitals. The hotels should be funding it themselves if it’s done off-premise as should the hospitals.
Smokes, I half-heartedly looked for something to corroborate the story online, but came up empty. Smells of anti-US propaganda, pure and simple; likely some JTBC creation.
My (Korean) wife watched it at the same time and she couldn’t make sense out of what was really being reported, or in what context. And it was very quick. “What did they just say?” Wish we had it on the DVR; I’d gladly type out the word-for-word transcript. Think it was purposely obscure.
Just another far left Russian collusion-like accusation.
Or…there could be some services in the recently agreed to cost sharing agreement, and those services may include something to do with organizational laundry such as what the 121st has. If that is the case, then the Koreans agreed to it so haters don’t have a leg to stand on.
A fun thing to do is go into terminal and try to run sudo commands.
Also try to get into etc/shadow
Make sure you run it sand boxed and not bridged to your nic.

Kangaji, I am not certain that I want it loaded on any of my hardware, even in a VM until I gain more familiarity with both configuring Linux and blocking malware.
I know it’s a crippleware version of Redhat with Apple-flavored lipstick; but I’m not as good a hacker as the dudes working for norkistani internal security…
There’s a big laundry plant next to the visitor’s gate at Yongsan that has been there ever since I can remember. I’m not sure what it’s current status is. I vaguely recall in years past that there was talk of shutting it down, but the workers protested against that – saying that they had worked there for many years (decades) and wouldn’t be able to find other employment. Once again … going on vague recollections … I think the workers there were KGS employees. That would explain how the anti-American crowd could claim the Korean gov’t is paying for USFK’s laundry.
