Two French Commandoes Killed During Rescue of Korean Civilian in Burkina Faso
A Korean woman is very lucky to be alive after being rescued by the French military in Burkina Faso:
French special forces have rescued a Korean, two French and an American tourist after a military operation in Burkina Faso. The four have been held captive by an armed gang in the West African country located in the Sahel area which has recently seen a rise in violence by al Qaeda- and Islamic State-linked militants.

French special forces have rescued four hostages, including two of its own citizens, a South Korean and an American, from a militant group in Burkina Faso.
The French military announced on Friday that two of its commandos lost their lives during the operation in the West African country. It said four terrorists were killed while two escaped during combat.
You can read more at the link, but Burkina Faso is under a travel alert to South Koreans because of the Islamic militants. I wonder if this Korean woman was a missionary?

GI, the American is also a woman. And there have been a lot of missionaries and other Christians kidnapped, beaten, tortured, and killed by Al Qaeda and their associates over the last few years in West Africa. At least 13 dead just in Burkhina Faso since January 2016.
The French soldiers went in to rescue the French civilians. No one even knew about the two women until the operation was underway.
If anyone wants to blame anyone, blame the terrorists, not women or missionaries, or French heroes who went beyond their mission to save those women. I think the victim-blaming needs to stop. No one forced those Islamic thugs to kidnap and murder people. They did it because they enjoy it.
Also according to the US media, the State Dept was aware the American had been kidnapped but had no idea who was holding her or where she was. Kudos to the French on helping America, and a slow hand salute to the 2 French commandos who paid the ultimate price in this rescue operation.
Yeah, ok. Maybe we can organize a children’s crusade, that will certainly convert the jihadist…believing the armor of some sky pilot will protect you from the guns of the believers in a different sky pilot is the ultimate foolishness. And now two French Soldiers had to die for their foolishness.
Flyingsword, no one went there to rescue missionaries, it was French soldiers sent to rescue a French could taken from a park. And the American was apparently kidnapped from a different country. Terrorists don’t give a rip about what anyone else is doing, they just kidnap and kill to spread terror and raise money for more weapons. No actual word yet on who the American and Korean women are, nor why they were kidnapped, etc.
The key thing about the missionaries you despise is this: they think, like the soldiers, they’re on a rescue mission. They believe there is a real Hell and they’re willing to die to prevent a few people from going there. And they usually go places with medical supplies, clothing, food, educational materials and more, not asking for payment from the people they’re trying to help…

Whatever you and I and everyone else believes about that, they’re at least willing to act like they believe what they say. Is there evidence like that about the rest of us?
