President Trump Promotes North Korea’s Economic Potential at G7 Summit
|I don’t think anyone doubts North Korea’s economic potential, the real question is if their economic potential can be reached and the Kim regime still remains in power:
U.S. President Donald Trump again touted North Korea’s “tremendous” economic potential on Monday, seemingly urging the regime to return to denuclearization talks.
The negotiations have yet to resume despite Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s agreement to do so within several weeks after their impromptu meeting on the inter-Korean border on June 30.
“I think that North Korea has tremendous economic potential, and I think that Kim Jong-un sees that,” Trump said at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron at the conclusion of a Group of Seven summit in Biarritz, France.

This is one of those times where I’d like to meet Trump and ask “What the f**k are you talking about?!”
There is no money to be made in the DPRK.
Can’t sell stuff to poor people.
Can’t make stuff to sell when 9/10ths your workforce are spies.
Why build infrastructure in a country that will certainly go Venezuela on you an seize it.
Can’t get foreign workers due to fear of arbitrary imprisonment.
F that country.
Load up a 747 full of sales people from the largest and most ubiquitous American companies (Cola-Cola, McDonalds, Levi Strauss in first class) land in Pyongyang. The South will never need to fire a shot. Westernize them in a hurry.
@smokes, before the North Koreans start their next provocation cycle next year if Trump decides to not pay them off, I think Trump has to show the international community that he has tried everything with North Korea before taking any stiffer action. All the flowery talk and meetings with Kim Jong-un is all part of this.
