Tweet of the Day: Pro-America Protest In Hong Kong
|People in #HongKong have directly called on Americans to act. From President #Trump to the rest of us, we must now do all we can for those on freedom's front line. https://t.co/V07cXiD6nP

I don’t really know what Hong Kong expects Trump to do. There’s no way to intercede militarily. All the US can do is offer sanctions against Chinese products, which are at best controversial.
I think the protesters want the Trump administration to publicly support them like Reagan did with a “Tear Down this Wall” type of comments. I don’t think the Trump administration is willing to go that route yet with China with the pending trade negotiations. This whole situation really sucks for the people of Hong Kong; I have enjoyed every time I have visited there and city has some super friendly people.
GI, you’re right. I hadn’t thought of that; but HK isn’t divided like post-WW2 Berlin (in fact, the protestors want a separation from PRC), and Xi isn’t like Gorbachev at all (unless he’s got a secret port-wine birtmark under his toupee)…
Besides, Gorby lost his job soon after being seen as caving to “Ronaldus Magnus”…
