South Korea is using helicopters to disinfect the border area to combat the spread of African swine fever (ASF) after it found a wild boar carcass infected with the deadly virus in the demilitarized zone.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, the government has started to disinfect the entire border area north of the civilian-restricted zone, starting with the DMZ in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi on Friday, where the infected wild animal was found.

It notified North Korea of the measures and is conducting fumigation with approval from the United Nations Command. Seven fumigation helicopters from the Korea Forest Service will disinfect the area over the next seven days with soil disinfectants such as quicklime.

I feel bad for KJU.

Everybody makes fun of his weigh and calls him names like homicidal dictator.

The reality is that he was raised in a peaceful, secure life in Europe and forced back to hold a position he likely would rather not have amid palace intrigue he would rather not have to experience.

While his handlers and those with their own fiefdoms within the system have their own agendas, his European lifestyle likely is a big influence on his thinking.

If he has the support and power, he is the best chance to normalize North Korea… assuming a framework can be constructed that brings greater prosperity and status yet allows everyone involved to keep their power while saving face when backing away from some previously dearly held values.

This is not impossible.

Anyway, I don’t think hate should be directed at KJU… and, in fact, there should be conversation and awareness that the old generation is keeping NK back from normalization and success.

CH, in my case there no hatred of Moon or KJU. However, it’s hard to learn to trust a guy that gunned down so many of his own admittedly disfunctional family. It’s not kosher to use hookers to rub poison on your brother. And he shoulda just sent Otto back with a note saying he wasn’t allowed to play commie games anymore.

He gets credit for the kills… but I suspect he had no choice but to rubber stamp whatever the Committee decided.

I just don’t see a reportedly benign and unexceptional swiss boarding school student showing up and Machiavelling so well.

CH, think back to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service where a Swiss “institute” was the front dor a plan to murder heads of state. Also, the Hank Williams, Jr. song, “Family Tradition.”

If KJU wasn’t tough enough to hold his own, the central committee would replace him in a heartbeat. I don’t see him as a victim.

But there is probably an offer too good (for all of the noek leadership) to refuse. And I estimate if anyone can find it, Trump will.
