I remember my DMZ patrols in October were quite beautiful as the leaves were changing colors among the evergreens. Beautiful and deadly, quite a combination.

But, Doc, I heard the norks only want peace… how could the DMZ foliage be deadly? /sarcasm

Yeah, I was USAF based in CONUS, so I missed all the fun people had on the pointy end of the spear; but there were several days in 1979 where we spent time sitting in the alert birds with the engines running, just in case something went sideways…
