Okinawa Governor Does Not Want U.S. Cruise Missiles on Island Chain

This should come as no surprise the Okinawa governor is against any weapons that could be used to defend the island:

As the Pentagon hunts for sites to deploy missiles against a rising China, Okinawa’s governor is warning the U.S. to steer clear of the southern Japanese prefecture.

Governor Denny Tamaki said in an interview Friday that any U.S. attempt to base intermediate-range ballistic missiles in Okinawa would be firmly opposed by the local people. Tamaki, who was elected last year on a campaign to get the Marines’ Futenma air base out of the prefecture, argues the region already shoulders an unfair burden by hosting about half of the 50,000 U.S. military personnel in Japan.

“Intermediate-range ballistic missiles can be used to attack other countries, so deploying them would conflict with the constitution and lead to a further build-up of the U.S. bases,” Tamaki, 60, told Bloomberg News. “To have new military facilities would be absolutely unacceptable.”

Bloomberg

You can read more at the link, but it will be interesting to see where the U.S. is able to put missiles to counter China.

I have to wonder what the average Japanese or Korean thinks. If the USFK & USFJ were ordered to case their flags and return to US soil, both countries would be defenseless ducks just waiting for the Chinese to invade & occupy just like the “good old days” when China ruled SE Asia with an iron dynasty or two…

I think we should case our flags and bring the troops home. Tell them we’re quiremte orepared to let the Chinese invade thrm without riski g American blood.

If they start protesting about us leaving, tell them the price goes up 10 percent every time they complain.

We should be manufacturing all our own stuff instead of importing slave labor products from Asia.

If they invite us back, nicely, we just tell them we need an agreement about political rhetoric. They’re free to say what they want. And we’re free to charge appropriately.

America doesn’t need to be a global police force. And frankly, we don’t need troops in EMEA, either.

We need to make it perfectly clear that we will protect our friends; but those who don’t want us can ask the Russians or Chinese to guarantee their independence.

And make our trade and immigration policies match. No defense treaty? No visas and 15-30 percent tariffs.

Also, Set’s comment… Gangster attitude or in terms of Asia, attitude of Triad/Yakuza/Russian Mafia. But he’s from America so a Cartel boy.

@johnhenry, you’re a steel-drivin’ man.

But you have literally zero understanding of where Trump is sending troops.

Kinda like that ISIS leader who lost his head.

Whose interests are we serving by having troops anywhere in the Middle-East?

Whose interests are we serving by having US troops anywhere outside of the US?

Don’t be fooled by CNN. They’re butthurt because Trump keeps firing the leakers.

Exactly why do we have troops anywhere? If it’s not directly serving US interests, we need to bring them home.

Zero understanding? Get real. Trump literally said he’s bringing troops home. When has President Trump lied to the military? NEVER. And it really makes me angry when people with absolutely no knowledge or understanding accuse our President of lying. One of the reasons the majority of the people in the United States elected President Trump was his promise to end the endless wars that we are in – HE’S KEEPING HIS PROMISE! If the Japanese don’t want our weapons then maybe we should either re-educate them or leave.

johnhenry
johnhenry

First off, the majority of the people in the US did not vote for Trump; the majority of the voters voted for Ms. Clinton. It was the majority of the Electoral College who put Trump in office.
Next, Trump pretends that he’s supporting the military but in reality he pulled quality of life funds from military construction to fund his useless wall.
And let’s not forget his comments about the parents of a KIA soldier, and about a Vietnam War hero.
Then there’s his pardon of a stone-cold murderer.
Nah, Trump doesn’t really support the military. And I’m not suffering from any derangement.

Johnhenry, we’re sorry this is happening to you. I am certain, with the right care, you can be whole again. But you need to want to be whole again. You do have friends here, even if we disagree from time to time.

And, with all due respect, you don’t seem to understand the Constitution or why the Electoral College was an important part of why we have one. I recommend you read the Federalist Papers. You can find them online free.

Similarly, you miscategorize Trump’s words ablout Khizr Khan (who used his dead son as a podium to launch a misleading attack at Trump at a political convention for trying to prevent terrorists from coming to the US from countries with ineffective immigrant vetting capabilities). Trump never insulted the son. And Khan is not pro-USA. Read what he writes.

You also miscategorize Michael Behenna (who was supported by both of Oklahoma’s Senators, a former OK Governor, and the the OK Attorney General…). No one said he wasn’t guilty; but a lot of people said he had learned and changed. Whether it’s true or not isn’t how pardons work. Ask Mark Rich.

The wall is not useless and even the Washington Post, in an article on 2 November about smuggling, admits it. And the fact of the matter is, you’re even miscategorizing where DOD got the money.

You’re intelligent, so I have to assume you’re either offering misdirection on purpose (like some of our trolls) or you are suffering from a strong delusion.

No one says you have to like the guy. But try to do better research. There’s a reason people show up to his rallies. He is bringing hope back. And none of his political rivals go after his actual flaws, they just push “free” this or that (i.e., taxpayer-funded bureaucrats handing out stuff).

Come back into the light… 😀

Johnhenry,

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are simply misinformed.

“First off, the majority of the people in the US did not vote for Trump; the majority of the voters voted for Ms. Clinton. It was the majority of the Electoral College who put Trump in office.”

I am not sure if you understand what is necessary to be elected president in America. Trump seems to have understood that winning the “majority of the Electoral College” was the actual pathway to the presidency… so his strategy focused on this rather than completely irrelevant issues like majorities and whatnot. “Trumpeters” love Trump because he sets goals, devises strategies to accomplish them, and does what he intends…

…unlike fúckarounds like Hillary who seeming don’t understand simple things like how the American election system actually works.

Didn’t School House Rock teach this?

“Next, Trump pretends that he’s supporting the military but in reality he pulled quality of life funds from military construction to fund his useless wall.”

Did quality of life somehow go down? Is the wall truly useless? Evidence, please.

“And let’s not forget his comments about the parents of a KIA soldier, and about a Vietnam War hero.”

Kindly supply a link that isn’t fake news.

“Then there’s his pardon of a stone-cold murderer.”

If you think pardoning Behenna was the wrong action, then YOU are the dirtbag who does not support the military.

“Nah, Trump doesn’t really support the military. And I’m not suffering from any derangement.”

You have a terrible case of OrangeManBad. If you tried to express why you actually hate the OrangeMan, you would be unable to do so… because, like most sufferers of TDS, you can only hum and haw in generalities and misperceptions.

But it does not matter.

He is YOUR president now… and will likely be your president for another 4 years.

…because reality is different than your misperception or wishful thinking.

How do you feel when you have to say President Trump? Does it burn?

Let’s say it together.

“My president Trump is winning.

Johnhenry, why do you hate trump so much?

Kindly give a list of your dislikes.

I know exactly how the Elecetoral College works. That is not what I was addressing. “Guest” stated that the majority of the public elected Trump. That is false.

And you’re calling me a dirtbag for saying it was wrong to pardon someone who took a prisoner, stripped that prisoner, questioned that prisoner with a gun to the prisoner’s head, and then killed that prisoner? Nah, that does not make me a dirtbag.

Oh, and “fake news” does not mean “what you do not like”.

setnaffa

Well, johnhenry, in America, we have the right to hold and express our opinions, vote the way we believe, and even be offended by others.

Those are precious rights. And what we call fake news is when the allegedly neutral media takes sides and starts making up the news instead of fairly reporting it.

Like the story of Michael Behenna. Your version of his story aligns with Rachrl Maddow, who has an anti-military agenda. Others, like US Senators, Attorney Generals, and Governors, believe Michael’s version.

Who is fake news in that case?

We understand you have an apparently irrational hatred of a guy you never met. You’ve made it abundantly clear.

You need some professional counseling. Hate is a poison that eats a person from the inside-out. Some people say it’s wahat causes csncer. Whether that’s true or not, it can affect a person’s health in many other ways.

Drop the hate. Find a way to help people without hurting others.

And begin to realize CH has a great sense of humor; but he does like to needle all of us at times. This is a friendly place. A safe place. But you have to be willing to take as much as you dish out.

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

Johnhenry, there are two versions of Behenna’s story…

…the one pushed by the anti-military crowd and the one pushed by Behenna…

…that was backed up by the prosecution’s forensic analyst… but intentionally hidden from the defense in an increasingly typical case of prosecutorial dishonesty and misconduct.

Hence two reductions of sentence followed by parole followed by a pardon.

The real story here is not that a soldier killed a dangerous murderer while trying to prevent more Americans being murdered in an active and unpredictable war zone… it is that there are people judging his actions based on policing standards in a peaceful society… and they lying about it when the evidence indicates he did the correct thing even by those high standards.

Since you side with the liars looking to damage a soldier who appears to have truly had the interests of saving America lives and furthering American goals, I again conclude YOU are the dirtbag that does not support the military… except perhaps the part that lies and covers up evidence to further an anti-military political agenda.

P.S. Fake News frequently means what I do not like… as I do not like fake news. And most of the fake news certainly does not support things I like.

Again, the offer still exists for you to supply links to his comments about KIA soldiers and war heroes… even a fake news one that intentionally misrepresents and/or takes things out of context. We will then show you are equally misinformed as with your anti-soldier/anti-military/anti-victory/anti-American/pro-fake news viewpoint.

Actually, ChickenHead, I had a rather productive and quite busy weekend, what with living my life with my wife. I certainly do not hate America. That honor goes to Trump who daily proves he’s absolutely incompetent for the office he currently holds.

And you might want to look into some reading comprehension classes. I said nothing about what Trump said about KIA. Check my post again. I referred to what he said about the parents of someone killed in action. I also referred to Trump’s abusive comments about another actual war hero from the Vietnam War. Go ahead. I’m sure you can figure out who these people are.

You might consider yourself funny with your accusations against me. I respect the military, being a retired US Navy Petty Officer First Class myself. What I do not respect is someone who kills an unarmed prisoner. And I do not respect a president who pardons that murderer for naught but political gain.

Vietnam War Heroes badmouthed? Golly. That’s never happened before. And especially not by the people running against Trump…

Oh. Wait.

John Kerry was called a war hero and yet he claimed he was a war criminal. Then he threw away his medals. Then he said he had thrown away some other guy’s medals. But he was for the Iraq War before he was against it. Or something. And he cheated on his taxes and married the rich widow af a Republican Senator in order to get his seat. But he has Cambodia seared into his memory. Or something.

BTW, Benedict Arnold of Revolutionary War infamy was an actual war hero who decided there was more money in betraying his comrades. Some folks blame his wife, some the stingy Continental Congress; but he’s the one who chose to betray us. Many of his ilk are in government service right now.

Richard Blumenthal was no closer to Vietnam during the war than Trump (or me, for that matter); but Trump never pretended he was there. Blumenthal did. And built a political career and personal fortune off stolen valor.

“Songbird McAmnesty” was called a war hero (and some other things). He was the lesser son of greater sires. He may not have actually been the one who started the fire on the USS Forrestal; but we remember the Keating Five and him calling the people who elected him “hobbits” for believing his campaign promises. He was a vile, bitter man who held grudges and sided with Democrats on every important piece of legislation. Just because you did something good on Monday doesn’t give you free rein to be a donkeydick the rest of the week.

Some people see the world through rose-colored glasses. Others see things as they are. Trump wasn’t elected to make every government employee happy. He made promises and has been keeping them. Look at what he’s done as far as Federal Judges and the Dow Jones.

If you don’t like him, don’t vote for him. But don’t try to use a DD214 to claim you’re a patriot, to claim you speak for anyone but yourself, or to badmouth a fellow who’s actually done more for GIs in three years than Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama combined.

And do better research. Everything you’ve been tossing out is stuff from 2016. That election was over three years ago.

“I certainly do not hate America. That honor goes to Trump who daily proves he’s absolutely incompetent for the office he currently holds.”

Examples, please.

Or do you side with:
…the Chinese/Mexicans/etc on trade, the southern invaders on border security and unskilled jobs taken from Americans, “allies” on funding their defense, the military-industrial complex on endless war, those who begrudge record low minority unemployment and a reduction of welfare and dependency, Iran building their inevitable nuke but being given a power economy in the process, wealth transfers for Global Warming Alarmism even though America exceeded the targets due to the progression of technology rather than corrupt financial obligation, those who hate that America is an energy exporter instead of being beholden to OPEC and such.

Sure tell us more about how Trump hates America.

“And you might want to look into some reading comprehension classes. I said nothing about what Trump said about KIA. Check my post again. I referred to what he said about the parents of someone killed in action.”

Seriously? That is the best offense you have? If you want that level of nitpicking, Trump was complimentary to the father and simply questioned, not criticized, the actions of the mother… not while they were acting as gold star parents, but acting as star attractions in a direct political attack on Trump at the Democratic National Convention.

” I also referred to Trump’s abusive comments about another actual war hero from the Vietnam War.”

McCain was about the biggest bag of shìt America ever had at that level of government. Of course that is only my opinion… and I would be more than happy to detail why it is… but, as my opinion, you won’t get much traction saying that Trump is anti-American for clearly doing things that help America while insulting a guy who clearly did thing to hurt America.

“Go ahead. I’m sure you can figure out who these people are.”

Protip: When someone gets vague like this in a discussion, it means they have run out of ammo and they are trying to make the other party do the thinking in hopes they will feel failure if they can’t fill in gaps (that may not even exist). Apart from this never really working with adults, anybody who recognizes this desperate act realizes they are arguing with someone who is slowly realizing how little they have to back up their argument.

“You might consider yourself funny with your accusations against me.”

I consider myself funny even when I am accusing someone else. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

“I respect the military, being a retired US Navy Petty Officer First Class myself. What I do not respect is someone who kills an unarmed prisoner.”

What about a prisoner that is trying to get armed by making you unarmed… as the forensic investigation showed… which was covered up by the prosecution? If evidence clearly shows the soldier acted in self defense and the prosecution had to lie about it to make their case, yet you still side against the soldier… well… there can be no real discussion here.

“And I do not respect a president who pardons that murderer for naught but political gain.”

So you consider it only for political gain that the president supported a soldier who was protecting American lives and advancing American interests and which an investigation shows was innocent of murde… over a dishonest prosecution breaking legal and ethical boundries to achieve a false predetermined politically-motivated anti-American outcome?

Your Trump Derangement Syndrome must be crippling in other aspects of your life.

I bet you were a superstar in the navy.

So… I guess he simply has no reasonable responses.

But what can a reasonable response be from a guy who mindlessly hates Trump so much that he wishes sabotage on America, supports the political agendas of lying corrupt prosecutors, and has more love for terrorists killing American soldiers than American soldiers defending America (and themselves)?

Come on… give some examples of how Trump hates America. Explain why you still think a soldier trying to save American lives is the bad guy when a forensic investigation (hidden by the prosecution) says he acted in self-defense.

What happened to johnhenry?

Did his alligator mouth actually choke on his hummingbird àss?

Look, johnhenry, you can believe what you want… but if you throw your ideas into the public, you had better be able (and willing) to back them up.

I have a bigger mouth than you… and more than willing to force my opinion on everyone around me… but if anybody asks me to explain myself, I am perfectly able (and willing) to instantly do so. And if I cannot explain myself, I reevaluate my opinion… and correct it through change (or better rationalization).

So… if you don’t want to look like a standard dipshìt, just explain yourself… don’t hide like a biatch.

I have given you my view of the situation and my clear reasoning. You can spout the opposite view… but if you can’t back it up, your opinion means nothing… and you mean nothing… at least until you promote ideas that can be sold with something other than emotion or bullshìt.

Wow, CH, you’re beginning to act like a petulant child. Oh, that’s right. You do not think that’s a problem, what with the petulant child currently disgracing the office of the president of the United States.

Quickly for you: you can believe what you want about the murderer’s claim to self defense, claims which really do not pass the “smell test”. Nor do I care about “your satisfaction”.

What I care about is following the constitution, not being beholden to a Russian dictator, not corrupting the most important position in the world, and not breaking the law.

Anyway, I sure hope you enjoy the impeachment hearings.

p.s. I was awarded a two-day paid holiday this week in comp time for prepping my students for a major exam on a weekend last month. Sorry if it bugs you that I’m not at your beck and call due to my job, my family life, and simply I don’t think you’re that important. 😀

“Wow, CH, you’re beginning to act like a petulant child.”

Beginning?

“Oh, that’s right. You do not think that’s a problem, what with the petulant child currently disgracing the office of the president of the United States.”

Ha! You actually believe fighting for America disgraces the office of the president. What actually disgraces the office of the president is the silent betrayal of America to its enemies, the corporatists, and the globalists while the last few presidents looked on or actively participated*.

* examples a available upon request

“Quickly for you: you can believe what you want about the murderer’s claim to self defense, claims which really do not pass the “smell test”.”

Ah… so your ability to “smell” is better than the skills of a trained forensic investigator who actually looked at the body. Yet you somehow “smell” nothing when prosecutors lie and cover up evidence to make a case rather than simply refuting it. Got it.

Are you a smoker? Seldom brush your teeth? Shower irregularly? I’m just trying to determine what is wrong with your sense of smell… because if there is nothing wrong, it just means you are an idiot and NeverTrumper tool.

Bonus: It is hardly uncommon to throw out a conviction when there is gross prosecutorial misconduct… such as in this case. Even if the conclusion of the forensic investigator doesn’t please you or the prosecution because it doesn’t further your political agenda, exculpitory evidence can be countered but it cannot be hidden and lied about. This really isn’t a good thing to allow in a justice system. If you don’t recognize this and support this concept, you are part of the problem and a perfect target for ridicule… a true child demanding his outcome and a supporter of an unjust fascist state.

“Nor do I care about “your satisfaction”.”

But you will.

“What I care about is following the constitution, not being beholden to a Russian dictator, not corrupting the most important position in the world, and not breaking the law.”

Good grief! That’s a mouthful. Again, you are invited to show examples… which, despite your constant accusations against Trump, you have not done… because you cannot… because even though you believe these concepts to be true, examples do not exist… because you are a fake news cuck… a NeverTrumper NPC with no actual ability to think for yourself. Good job, cuck.

Bonus Question: Do you hold the same sour opinion of former presidents and candidates who actually DID do some of these things without consequence? You don’t have to answer… as our discussion is not about them… and whatabouts are distracting… but it might help you put your OrangeManBad hate into context.

“Anyway, I sure hope you enjoy the impeachment hearings.”

I have only seen highlights… but it appears to be so ridiculous that even swing voters will recognize it as farce. It reminds me why Trump doesn’t wear glasses.

….because…

…wait for it…

He’s got 2020.

“p.s. I was awarded a two-day paid holiday this week in comp time for prepping my students for a major exam on a weekend last month.”

Wow! You deserve a smiley face AND a gold star! But if I do some quick math, working for free on a two day weekend and getting paid not to work on two weekdays adds up to… zero. Hah! You are a fake news cuck AND an employer cuck. Good job, cuck.

“Sorry if it bugs you that I’m not at your beck and call due to my job, my family life…”

Your love of running your mouth with an inability to back it up is not bugging… it is delightful. It is calming and reaffirming to see that NeverTrumpers and fake news cucks are as shallow and uninformed as expected.

“…and simply I don’t think you’re that important.”

I am not. But you aren’t doing it for me. You are doing it for you. Because if you don’t do it for you, you have to live with the realization that you are a mindless NPC and a fake news cuck spouting falsehoods for your masters… or you are simply too stupid to clearly explain and give solid examples for the well-establish situations you say exist. Not sure which is worse.

My satisfaction comes from knowing that people who embrace dysfunction, such as refusing to resolve contradictory thoughts, live in their own personal internal hell.

Or maybe I am wrong.

Maybe you can stop speaking in generalities or gushing about your private life and give some solid examples supporting your claims… which are unlike the previous two which were easily shown as fake news targeted at the cucks and their misguided sense of smell.

If Trump is so guilty of these things, it should only take seconds for even a man of rudemeny intellect to list solid supporting evidence.

Can you do it? Or is this when your cognitive dissonance tells you to run?
