Protestant Church in Seoul Latest Cluster Infection Site
|It seems that South Korea has reached the stage where authorities are quickly reacting to cluster infections of the coronavirus before they become major outbreaks like we saw in Daegu:
Another cluster transmission of the new coronavirus has infected 40 followers of a protestant church in Seongnam, just south of Seoul, municipal government said Monday, raising an alarm bell on the steady spread of cluster infections in the capital area.
The city government of Seongnam said 40 members of Grace River Church, including the pastor and his wife, have tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a Sunday service about a week ago.
Six other people who had come into contact with the infected church members have also been confirmed as coronavirus patients, it noted.

Hmm another church (reaches for trusty tinfoil hat) You know if all these churches keep spreading the virus, perhaps commie moon pie will simply outlaw organized religion and establish only virus free churches under the watchful eye of the government, much like his hero emperor xi has done…after all you never hear about churches in China spreading the virus…
Don’t give him any ideas, though I am sure commie moon’s boss in Beijing is already sending him instructions.
Korean churches typically share a fellowship meal after the service. Because of the typical Korean “family-style” sharing of side dishes, this “rash of infections” could have started 2-4 weeks ago (or more) with symptoms only now being noticed. And it might be the infected all ordered food delivered by the same immigrant delivery guy, like Patient Zero in Italy…
Granted it’s not pleasant, but limiting our exposure is probably really necessary for the next couple weeks…
I read about this new cluster on Fox News yesterday and it must be one of the stupidest examples of how to get the virus: “Video images released from the protestant church show a church member sticking the nozzle of the spray bottle into several church members. “It’s been confirmed that they put the nozzle of the spray bottle inside the mouth of a follower, who was later confirmed as a patient, before they did likewise for other followers as well without disinfecting the sprayer,” said Lee Hee-young, head of Gyeonggi Province’s Covid-19 task force.”

Good point, @Andy1! Well-intentioned amateurs are generally the cause of every disaster…
