DPK Wants to Follow Through On Giving Every Korean Money for Voting for Them

It looks like Koreans will soon see some money heading their way for voting for the DPK this past week:

Following its win in Wednesday’s general election, the ruling party is reigniting the drive to offer emergency disaster relief money to every household to ease economic strain from the coronavirus pandemic ― in the face of the government’s opposition due to pressure on financial soundness.

On Sunday, the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) held a trilateral meeting with Cheong Wa Dae and the government in Seoul to seek an understanding on expanding the scope of recipients. DPK Chairman Rep. Lee Hae-chan and floor leader Rep. Lee In-young sat with Senior Presidential Secretary for Policy Kim Sang-jo and Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki.

The initial government scheme was to deliver between 400,000 won ($328) and 1 million won in accordance with the number of household members in the bottom 70 percent of income-earners. But during the election campaign, the DPK pledged to give the disaster allowance to every citizen in an effort to gain votes.

I’m still waiting on my Trump money. First week of payouts have passed and still my bank account has not been filled.

Just future debt for the slaves of the Confederacy to work off.

So if this is a payback for the bribe money by the ruling politicians for the votes they got, then what do you call Trump’s $2 trillion payouts to Americans? Oh but let’s not be so obviously biased here.

KoreanMan – Any money that the government doles out to its citizens is just money from taxes already paid over the years. It’s like the insurance industry. People pay in on the off chance that something will happen to where they need the money back that they’ve paid in over the years. Governments (and I’m not limiting this to the US or ROK) waste vast amounts of money every year on this or that project instead of spending it to benefit the people who are funding them.

The economic stimulus payment in the United States is from a bipartisan agreement in Congress. And then that clown in the White House insisted on screwing around with the method of payment so that his name would actually appear on the checks for those receiving paper checks.

TCT: Part of the problem with government finance is that the money is targeted for certain projects and, in general, cannot be used for anything other than what the legislature directed it be used for. It’s actually a very complicated issue in both theory and practice.

Very very few people get paid by paper check anymore. The only exceptions are those without bank accounts and those living on the streets which have no fixed address so they wouldn’t be able to receive the payment anyway.

JH – It’s only complicated because the bureaucrats have made it that way. In today’s day and age in combination with the fiat currency policy of the last 100 years, we aren’t even talking about anything tangible until the “ones” and “zeros” of the digital world get to a place where that value can be exchanged for currency that everyone trusts is valuable. That’s why Trump is working to put the country back on the gold standard so that the dollar is tied to something everyone can see, feel, and count, not some lofty ideal.

Putting the country “back on the gold standard” would be incredibly stupid. So, yeah, I can see that clown pulling that stunt.

JH: Yes, it would be “incredibly stupid” to restore fiscal conservatism especially if you’re a fan of big government and the nanny state that has existed ever since the time of FDR and enhanced by LBJ (both DemonRats, I might add). Fiat currencies only encourage overspending, raising arbitrary debt ceilings, and driving the country’s credit way past the limits of any sane person. That’s how the country got so recklessly in debt.
