Yellowbike, whoever instituted that policy ought to be charged under “18 U.S. Code § 2387 Activities affecting armed forces generally” (if civilian) and “Article 94 UCMJ: Mutiny and Sedition” (if in the military.
That is bound to hurt morale and enlistment, as well as “good order and discipline”. And it’s quite frankly a move that will meet with resounding applause in Beijing, Pyongyang, Tehran, and Moscow.

@myyellowbike, recruits can put in for a waiver for issues that they are disqualified for. However, with COVID-19 so little is known about it that I am willing to bet that DOD is going to take a wait and see approach before approving any waivers.
Open it all. That’s the only way to completely beat this thing once and for all. If not, we’ll be going through this crap twice a year from now on.
Related, this is under consideration, One story seemed to say it is not law yet. Can you imagine?
