Picture of the Day: Masks for Foreign Korean War Veterans
|
Boxes containing 1 million masks are loaded onto a military transport plane at an airbase in Gimhae, 449 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on May 8, 2020. The masks will be conveyed to veterans in 22 nations who fought for South Korea against the invading North under the U.N. flag during the 1950-53 Korean War. (Yonhap)
Well done Korea! BZ!
They should have sent the masks to the workers at the nursing homes these vets all died at. All the attention was focused on hospitals, while nursing homes were totally unprepared for this situation, with a staff that are generally barely trained at best, and no PPE supplies at all. The barely mentioned fact of this “pandemic” is that it slaughtered helpless old people in nursing homes and assisted living places, where the virus was brought inside by the staff who had no masks or anything else for many weeks into the shutdowns.
They should have sent it to every household so they don’t have to lineup for corona part deux.
