The Japanese Defense Minister asked USFJ to COVID test all inbound in the US before arriving in Japan, regardless of port of debarkation (Kadena for Patriot Express, Narita and Haneda for commercial). The article states arrivals on the Patriot Express at Kadena are only quarantined for 14 days, but not tested. Is that true?
Regardless if testing is done at Kadena, what the Japanese Defense Minister is asking for is common sense. I’m surprised the ROK Defense Minister has never asked for the same thing from USFK given the unusually high amount of Patriot Express inbounds who test positive upon landing at Osan.
How many South Koreans died at the hands of the Norks and their allies? Assume $2M per death (approximately 5M), with compound interest at the standard passbook savings account rate at the time since their deaths. Perhaps between $2T and $40T, depending on the interest rates.
Then too, there is the cost of rebuilding homes, farms, cities, and industries destroyed and/or looted. We can estimate this, apart from human suffering, at another $2T in today’s dollars.
The cost of providing additional security (beyond a fence and a few bored teens with guns and an angry NCO or two) since the 625 is also to be included. Add in another 2T.
I would expect the total bill to be over $40T. But getting them to pay $900M is just as onerous for an East Asian culture that does not ever apologize.

BTW, the last is not “raaaaacist”. China never apologizes. Japan never apologizes. Neithe Korea ever apologizes. It’s their culture. Not for us to judge or criticize.

What are statistics for diseases developed by S. Korean civilians linked to Agent Orange and other defoliants sprayed during the period 1969-1970?
Thae Yongho calls for NORK debt repayment to the South. 900 million seems a bit low too.
