Canadian Prime Ministers Blasts China’s “Coercive Diplomacy”
|If you have the Canadians angry at you then you know you have done something wrong:
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned China on Tuesday that its “coercive diplomacy,” repressive measures in Hong Kong and detention of Uighur Muslims are counterproductive for itself and the rest of the world.

Trudeau took aim at Beijing’s record as he marked the 50th anniversary of Canada’s diplomatic ties with China.
“We will remain absolutely committed to working with our allies to ensure that China’s approach of coercive diplomacy, its arbitrary detention of two Canadian citizens alongside other citizens of other countries around the world is not viewed as a successful tactic by them,” Trudeau said at a press conference.

Emperor Xi does what he wants. Isn’t that right, Beijing Boy?
“Under the terms of the Foreign Investment Protection Act (FIPA), a bi-lateral treaty ratified with China by the Trudeau government in 2019, Chinese security forces can be stationed on Canadian soil to protect vital Chinese investments, without the knowledge or consent of local authorities.”

If the above is true (and I’m happy for a correction, if someone can show me otherwise), how angry at China can he really be? And what’s the point of being angry after signing this thing?
Liz,
The point is virtue-signalling means lots of noise and smoke but no fire.
Here’s the thing about this fiasco. And it’s so typical.
The US put out a warrant for the arrest of Huawei chief officer, Meng. The Canadians, being the law abiding democratic country allied to the US, arrested Meng and held her for deportation back to the US. China put all kinds of pressure on Canada to release Meng, including throwing Canadian citizens living in China, in jail. So what does the US do? They throw Canada under the bus, by offering to negotiate with China over Meng in return for economic favors from China. That’s what you call, “America first policy”, and this is why nobody should be allied with the US. Let US and China duke it out in a separate room. They are two of the same kind.
Once again, we see the degradation of the quality of Chinese trolls.
Truly sad to see. They have always been annoying; but Beijing boy had added dull to the lineup.
Be better!
Coming from an distrustful backstabbing country called the USA.
