The only appropriate “protest” — as far as I can tell — is to be on your knees begging for a handful of rice from the government, with no other way to obtain it.
Police banned their demonstration due to concern over t̶h̶e̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶c̶o̶r̶o̶n̶a̶v̶i̶r̶u̶s̶ the effectiveness of demonstrations in forcing the government to put limitations on the powers of large corporations in a time when government is killing small business and facilitating wealth and power transfers to large corporations.
