Picture of the Day: Outgoing Foreign Minister

Outgoing Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha holds a bouquet as she joins a group photo session with the ministry’s senior officials during a ceremony at the government complex in Seoul on Feb. 8, 2021, to mark her departure from the post. (Yonhap)
Considering that she had to balance the viewpoints and expectations of the leftists who are in power and diplomatic common sense, she probably had one of the most difficult jobs in Korea.
That and the fact she was the first female FM in Korea, which probably was a result of Calamity Moon trying to fulfill his campaign promise of having 30% of the cabinet posts filled by females than her diplomatic abilities.
Having stayed in the administration for about four years she is also the second longest serving female cabinet member in this administration after the current Education Minister, whom I’m told is Calamity Moon’s favorite.
