Chinese Government Uses Texas Weather Crisis to Justify Communist Rule

The Chinese government is once again pointing fingers at the U.S. to justify why the Chinese Communist Party should remain solely in charge of China:

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s foreign ministry said on Friday that seeing the plight of Americans suffering in a severe winter storm that hit the state of Texas this week reinforced a belief among Chinese citizens that their country is “on the right path”.

Foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying made the comments in response to a question from a state media journalist on calls by western countries for an investigation into alleged human rights abuses in its western Xinjiang region.

During her lengthy response, made at a regular ministry news conference, Hua repeated China’s denials of abuse of Muslims in the region, and said that Australia, Canada and the United States had histories of genocide.

But she also contrasted the vulnerability of many Texans with the festive experience of Chinese during the recently-completed Lunar New Year holiday. State and social media in Communist Party-led China frequently draw attention to crises in the United States and other western countries.

“Not to be wanting of food or clothing, not to be hungry or cold, this is the fundamental human right that is the most real,” she said.

“In the meantime in Texas … millions of people found themselves caught in the terrible situation of not having electricity and heating at home, a few tens of people even lost their lives because of this,” she said.

“This gave the Chinese people a deeper appreciation for what is the real human right, and made us believe more strongly that China is on the right path. We are fully confident about our future,” she said.

All Texas proves is that the US is indeed a third world country.

Historic cold…improper planning by a utility…despite the cries of the MSM this is not a “humanitarian crisis” yes people died, yes people were without electricity, without potable water from a tap in the kitchen, but I suspect within days for the vast majority life was more or less back to normal. In 2008 most of my hometown lost power for 3 days in the fall after a historic windstorm, luckily the weather was seasonal, not too cold yet. I did what I had to do during the day, at dark I used candles carefully and flashlights & still survived. Tossed out the food in the fridge that I couldn’t eat in time, but otherwise was okay. Folks that refuse to plan beyond tomorrow or truly think the universe revolves around them are the ones in trouble. Now emperor xi about the treatment of the “guests, prisoners” whatever word you use for those those who do not or will not fall in lockstep with your totalitarian ideology, since you are treating them so well, throw open the gates and invite the world media in with unlimited access and give all your minders the day off, after all, that was done in Texas minus the minders because the US doesn’t have those.

I’d rather live free or die in the cold than live under emperor xi’s reign of terror.

Don’t get me wrong I am no fan of China. China is asshoe in my view. I’m just lamenting on the state of the US right now because it just seems like nothing’s going right and every one of those shit globalist studies has us ranked amongst the third world. While the US may not be third world yet we’re definitely being fasttracked there.

One thing to consider about the Texas situation is…

…who do we condemn for not planning for an event that never happened before and was such an outlier that it could not reasonably be predicted?

More than the state of Texas, or even the intrusive federal government being of little used, perhaps the most blame should go to the people who think government can and will take care of them in every situation.

The people who do not keep a reasonable supply of water, food, shelter, weapons, medicine, power, technology, and a repository of offline information, which allows them to thrive in any number of situations where government/industry/society fails, are mostly to blame.

Anybody who didn’t learn that lesson in 2020 probably needs to removed from the voting and gene pool.

CH, the Feds turned down ERCOT’s request to run power generation facilities at a higher than normal lever for a couple of days due to weather. They were turned down due to air pollution standards.

People died as a result of no electricity in areas affected by the blackouts. That is on DOE.

I am not happy with the Governor or state utility folks; but in this case it’s easy to see precisely whose conduct killed people.

There should have been more choices; but there were not. And DOE refused a 2 day air quality variance on a roughly 73 year record freeze (i.e., 1949).

There are still people whose apartmwnts have no water or power; but the high in Dallas was over 70°F, so not as life-threatening.

We were prepared, as were most of our neighbors. Many people have been educated to believe only the government can think for them. Hard to break through the indoctrination.
