Will there be a State of the Union Address this year?
My answer: No, there will not be a SUA this year and the excuse the Biden administration will give will be that the President is too busy dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.
Right now, the Japanese are in disbelief and in shock by an article that says Japanese are poorer than South Koreans.
The article mentions that according to the OECD, the average wage in Japan is $38,000 versus South Korea at $43,000. The Japanese always believed they were the first class nation with superior genetics, ignoring and refusing to believe the fact that the rest of Asia like South Korea was rapidly catching up and surpassing them. The article goes on to explain that even buying a small new economy car, is out of reach for most young Japanese in a country where there has been virtually no economic growth coupled with a decline of real wages for over 20 years. As a result, prices of consumer goods are too expensive for the Japanese, but it has become very affordable for visiting people from other countries. Ironically, Japan has always been known as a very expensive country for foreign visitors. In reality that is no longer the case for a while now.
The economic hollowing out of Japan is also noticeable in its young people’s health. Due to malnutrition and poor diet due to economic difficulties, the average height of Japan’s young people’s height have been shrinking steadily, after plateauing in 1980. Today, the average height of Japanese 19-year-old males are only 170cm. On the other hand, South Korean 19-year-old males have grown to over 175cm, as the height gap between the two countries, worsen. Here, the quality of free school lunches in South Korea has paid off, as no kid who attends a public school in Korea goes hungry. Meanwhile, the lunches in Japanese schools have deteriorated rapidly due to cuts in the government budget and corruption. Again, this indicating the reversal of fortunes of two countries that are going the opposite ways.

An Australian think tank’s essay about the Korean carrier program.
It states that one of the main reasons for pursuing this program besides admirals
wanting a new toy is the Korean never ending desire to one up the Japanese.
Soutb Korea could make a mint by building and selling mid-sized Frigates and Corvettes to Western nations instead of getting into another spitting match with Japan.
Reminds me of all the white people 50 years ago when they laughed and said it was fool-hardy for Koreans to build a ship building industry, or the semiconductor industry, and told the Koreans to stick to making textile and shoes. The more time passes, the more things stay the same.

Well Korean Man, this time is different. The white elephant of a carrier has little or no support even among the right wing military buffs who usually call for this country to build or buy bigger and better weapons.
Anyone who has a little knowledge of the military and geopolitical situation around the peninsula knows that the carrier is a big useless black hole that will suck money away from much needed programs.
Ironically, although the ROKN’s Cadillac minded admirals are strongly pushing for this project, this carrier itself is a brainchild of the Calamity Moon administration.

From Instapundit:
SWITZERLAND APPROVES BURQA BAN. “The proposal was put forward by the right-wing Swiss People’s Party (SVP) which campaigned with slogans such as ‘Stop extremism’. A leading Swiss Islamic group said it was ‘a dark day’ for Muslims. . . . It is not the first time Islam has figured in a Swiss referendum. In 2009 citizens went against government advice and voted to ban the building of minarets – a proposal also put forward by the SVP which said minarets were a sign of Islamisation.”
What do you think about countries that defend their own culture?

I think Seoul lost its global competiveness way before this article was published. Ever since the commie moon era began.
It looks like Tucker Carlson stepped in it with his comments about women in the military:

Tucker is right.
But the GAO would never perform a cost/benefit analysis on this (and if they did, like with trannies, they’d ignore it anyway).
