I’m not sure what you mean. We have kept access into and through the DMZ since 1953. Until 1991 we had checkpoints that performed 24/7 overwatch over most of those routes that the only traffic was friendly. Since the US turned over DMZ defense to the ROK, the JSA ensures the routes are still accessible.

Doc, if the peacenik propaganda is to be believed, the roads go all the way to the Yalu in some spots now.
It appeared to my unsophisticated and apparently ill-informed mind that they were meking sure the norkistani “tourists” would have a safe trip.
Apologies if anyone was offended. Then again, orange crates were not mentioned, so I should not have made those assumptions.
