Picture of the Day: Police Remove THAAD Protesters

THAAD is located on a former golf course, on top of a hill. No land was taken from the farmers to build the site. Not only that the radar in question is pointed north and from my understanding the village in question is located south east of the missile battery.
So why the fuss? Well one reason is obviously the leftist wackos who spend their free time protesting against THAAD and encouraging the villagers to join them with horror stories. The other reason I think and this hasn’t been mentioned before, is that some villagers are probably thinking they can force the government to cough up extra “compensation money” for hosting the THAADs, by protesting and making it a headache to bring materials into the site.
Either way the interests of the leftists are aligned with the interests of the villagers, resulting in the symbiotic relationship we are seeing now.

@TOK, the THAAD battery radar points up towards space to detect incoming ballistic missiles; it is not pointed at farm fields. There is no radiation coming at any of their crops. The Korean media was even invited to take radiation readings from the THAAD unit on Guam that proved this:

The only danger the radar poses is to airplanes since it radiates upward and thus why according to the documents at the link, the THAAD battery on Guam has a 5.5 km keep out zone for aircraft.

Yes, the radar is on top of a hill, pointed up wards and slightly northwest, to ensure good detection and tracking of ballistic missiles launched from the DRPK, so it is not pointed directly to any cities or villages located in front of the battery.
However, considering that the leftists have made a big deal out of the radiation coming from the radar, and that most of the protesting villagers seem to be from the village located southeast of the battery(located behind the radar to put it simply), I can’t help but wonder why the people behind the battery are making a big deal while the people in front of the battery don’t seem to care.
