Korean Companies to Announce Major Investments in U.S. in Conjunction with President Moon’s Visit

The real story is not being reported is what President Moon wants from the Biden administration in return for these investments. My guess will be he wants the U.S. to be more flexible on sanctions to jump start his North Korea engagement policy:

The United States is the world’s leading technology and innovation hub, but it is not a leader in the high-tech supply chain, mostly relying on Asian countries for essential items, such as semiconductors and batteries for electric vehicles.

In the face of growing challenges from China, U.S. President Joe Biden wants to revitalize the domestic manufacturing capacity amid the global chip crisis and a looming shortage of batteries, and he is expected to welcome a series of announcements of massive investment plans by Korean companies ahead of and after his summit talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday.

Let’s here.

The US wants to jump start the semiconductor chip manufacturing in the US.

– Korea has it (check)

The US wants to ensure the electric car battery industry serves the US auto industry’s coming electrification

– Korea has it (check)

The US wants to ensure the 5G communication equipment industry in the US is established instead of the US dependent on China

– Korea can provide that service (check)

I honestly don’t know why US continues to side with the absolutely useless Japan who’s only good for lip servicing the US, when South Korea has been far more technologically and economically invested in the US providing real jobs for Americans versus Japan who takes American jobs.

So what will the US provide South Korea in return? More vaccines for South Korea? More threats towards South Korea to join the Quad (and in turn give up 25% of South Korea’s export market)? More threats of a US military pullout if South Korea doesn’t pay up more money? More pressure towards South Korea to transfer even more jobs to the US or else?

The US sides with Japan because they have a million of those sex robots and if we can convince the Japanese to stop having sex with them and turn them into hunter killing terminators to counter the Chinese instead we may have a chance when we go to war with China. That’s why.

Given how few females were allowed to be born in China over the last 20-30 years, Beijing might actually be the target already…

Korean Man has a point there. But for the sake of fairness, compared to Japan, Korea hasn’t exactly been a reliable ally of the United States, especially of late.

If one were to ask then when was the last time Korea was considered to be a reliable ally of the US, then it would be during the Vietnam War.

For sending troops to Vietnam, Korea received the latest in American weaponry(it became the first Asian nation to operate the F-4 Phantom, way before Japan) and LBJ gave Park Chunghee free rides on Air Force One and rolled out the red carpet every time Park visited the US.

That is how foreign policy works.
