With 600,000 weapons and over 200 aircraft captured by the Taliban, their Air Force is in the top 50 worldwide. Larger, in fact, than most countries in Europe.

When will Biden begin pulling out all of the military personnel from South Korea?
Moose Knuckle
@Richard Adams: Hopefully soon as the world really can’t afford for us to ruin yet another country (though Trashghanistan was ruined long before we got involved there). On that note it really is time to cut our losses and take a much more reduced role on the global stage on the level of Canada or Australia. It’s a scary thought when the free world depends on a third world country to secure it.
@setnaffa, fortunately the Taliban is not going to have many if anyone with the expertise to fly the aircraft and definitely won’t be able to maintain them.

GI, that’s true; but on 9/11, they only had to fly once. And 600,000 weapons, even if all 9mm pistols, is going to be a pain in someone’s neck.
Alternatively, they might sell all to China.

What are you guys going on about?
What is happening in Afghanistan is exactly what is supposed to happen in Afghanistan. There were far too many “wrong decisions” in the chain of events leading to today for this to be simple incompetence or accident.
Let’s talk about what is really happening once you all get done bitching about what an idiot Burden is… which is missing the point because Burden has zero say in any of this… and may even be too embarrassed to do the job he was installed for… which is getting on TV and defending all the crazy that has happened/happening/going to happen.
What really happened is we got tired of Afghanistan just like the Soviets did and the
Chinese will.
But… but… but… the Taliban.
Do you want to leave the Chinese a functional society or do you want to leave the Chinese nothing but disorder awash in weapons. They already have examples of all America’s weapons and they have the original blueprints of all the vehicles and aircraft and such.
But… but… but… we left 10,000 Americans stranded.
Good. Good? Good.
Let’s see who got stranded.
1. Government contractors. Many of these fat fücks got rich off the government tit… which there is nothing wrong with on an individual level as they take skill and opportunity and turn it into cash. But they observed (and possible assisted) the continious shìtshow that is government and thought the government would be there for them? Dummies. A lesson to you all. If they didn’t have a backup plan and set aside the resources to carry it out, they deserve what they get.
2. Reporters. That needs no comment. Let the ràpe gangs and beheadings begin… and that is a gender neutral statement.
3. American aide workers not helping Americans because they are frequently anti-American, Muzzie-loving do-gooders thinking they can help the unhelpable, indoctrinatrd social workers insisting all sorts of nonsense like women are the same as men and multigendered pansexuality is beautiful. Sorry, folks. Your life was a lie.
4. Medical Aid Tourists putting in time in front of the cameras looking concerned over an injured brown person, building virtue cred, and getting a fat tax write-off. Bet you wish you had put that time into a charity clinic in an American inner city, despite the higher risk of danger.
5. Assorted hippies and eco-tourists who think all cultures are equal, all people are basically the same, the world can be fixed with love, there are no bad people, terrorists are just misunderstood, diversity is our strength, real communism can solve all problems, Orange Man Bad, and other fantasies. The ones who make it back need to be hooked up with the terrorist “refugees” we will certainly import so they can get another chance.
So, basically, no downside there.
But… but… but… terrorists!
Meh. Apart from 9/11, which may have been allowed to happen, the only terrorism in the last 20 years have been lone nutjobs with no organizational ties… or actually created by the FBI funding some halfwit Muslim and making him feel important by scouting a target for him, giving him a fake bomb, telling him where to go, arresting him, and declaring world saved.
And even if there is some terrorism… well… good. Chances are it will happen in a city which overwhelmingly voted for the people setting up all the groundwork for terrorism to happen. Elections have consequences, dontcha know.
The military industrial complex and security industry has had a really good 20 year run. Now it is time to turn the trough over to Big Pharma and identification and tracking companies.
In the end, Afghanistan was a mistake but the exit was the absolute best possible outcome.
As a bonus, we got to see what happens to people who don’t understand collapsible landing gear on high-speed vehicles that go where there isn’t much oxygen… which allows us all to be just a little smarter when talking about 80s action movies.

CH, I think that’s the one and only time I’ve agreed with one of your comments.
It figures that the Biden administration would go and trot out their bought and paid for “veterans group” to try and create the narrative that veterans support what is happening in Afghanistan right now:
More than 4,300 veterans signed an open letter praising President Joe Biden’s decision to end the war in Afghanistan, asserting that this was the “right thing to do.”
The Taliban rapidly regained control of Afghanistan this month, retaking the capital Kabul last week—two weeks before the scheduled end of the U.S. withdrawal. Biden has faced substantial criticism for the chaotic end to the two-decade-long war, the longest in U.S. history. But the president has doubled-down in defense of the withdrawal, arguing that the U.S. had fully achieved its objectives in Afghanistan.
“We the undersigned are resolute in our support of President Biden’s decision to end the war in Afghanistan,” the thousands of veterans said in an open letter, which was published Friday by the political action committee VoteVets.
The article is just another example of why people distrust the media. The article really should have been headlined that Democrat Party support veterans group supports Biden’s Afghan policy. The below FactCheck.org link shows how VoteVets has been exclusively supporting Democrat candidates:
BTW, just saw another article claiming a fully-vaccinated 84 year old with COPD who was living in assisted living in Florida was killed by an unvaccinated person.
Given 99 percent (or more) of those not vaccinated survive Winnie’s Pox, it sure seems like they are telling us the vaccine is a deadly poison.

At the top of my list:
– Cyyyyyyber Attack: Supply lines disrupted, especially food and energy… Internet disrupted, though oddly not for all sites (such as ones pushing the party line)… transportation affected, so travel discouraged… and… sorry, background checks are down, you can buy that gun as soon as we get the system back online sometime next century.
– Nice Taiwan you got there, I’ll take it: China decides the only resolve the American military has is to make sure trannies feel welcome… so they attack Taiwan and know America will do approximately nothing… especially as they (indirectly) control all of America’s media companies… and whatever evil cabal controlling America and leading it down a path of self-destruction would love to see America lose its aura of global dominance.
– And while you are all looking over there and mired in indecision and inaction: Russia invades Ukraine.
– Biden Passes Away in His Sleep: Oh, how touching, all the nice things everyone and the media says about him. And the first woman president is black! Imagine that. Then the clown show starts for real.
Bonus: The next nuke to go off will be in Saudi.
