@Kevin Kim, good point about freedom not showing up on the US portion of the chart especially with all the debate about COVID restrictions infringing on ones freedoms.
I think with South Koreans ranking material wealth first has a lot to do with “Keeping Up with the Jones Kim’s” mentality.

Material wealth is everything here in South Korea,
When a guy goes out on a first date, the first questions he will get asked is “What model car do you drive?” and “Do you have a major brand apartment?” or “Can you afford a major brand apartment?”
If the answers to the questions above are “I drive a Hyundai compact” and/or “No, but I have a ‘villa'(not a house, but a small apartment, built by SME construction companies)”, then the girl says bye bye and moves on to look for a guy who drives a BMW and can afford a major brand apartment.
Because of the above, there’s a flourishing market here for used Mercedes, BMWs, and Porsches for guys who want to get a girl but don’t have enough money to buy a new German luxury car.
Interesting that freedom comes up as a value for South Koreans, but not for Americans.

It didn’t.
Society did.
Interesting how Faith was only in the US top 5, nowhere else… But sadly below material well-being and occupation…
If the Middle East had been on that list, Faith would have popped up more.
