As we get closer to 25 December, please remember it’s not about a fat guy giving presents, it’s not about us giving presents at all. It’s about celebrating the greatest gift God gave us: the chance to be heirs of His eternal kingdom (Romans 5:8).

And all we have to do is believe (John 3:16).

Well hopefully nobody wishes me a Happy Holiday.

Now that the far right is using it as a racist dog whistle and coded identification, it is better to avoid it.

Happy Holiday = H. H. = Heil Hitler

If someone wishes you a Happy Holiday, you can be sure to know where their politics lie. If you truly think they said it in error, politely correct them. Otherwise, it is better to avoid them.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Get out of the car now! Get out of the car now! [what’s going on? what’s going on?] Get out of the car now! Get out of the car! [what’s going on?]

Korea Man, this is exactly why black people get shot.

“What’s going on?”

“What’s going on is I have no idea what is up with you and I want to go home to my family. So, what’s going on is you are going to get out of the car so I can control the situation. Then we will talk about it.”

Just get out of the car and the situation is resolved. Unlike media lies, cops don’t go around dispensing unnecessary violence on cooperative people in public places with multiple videos.

All he had to do is get out of the car, put everyone at ease, explain the situation… sorry and thank you for your service.

White people generally cooperate with cops, even if they are wrong. Once the situation is secure, everything can be resolved. If not, that is what courts are for.

White people know you can’t argue with cops. You argue before a judge.

Being uncooperative gets you shot… and if you absolutely must argue with the cops, let them secure the situation first… as whatever the issue is, it is going to wait until the situation is safe for the cops.

All this guy had to do is step out of the vehicle. That’s all.

That guy is probably a real pain in then ass to work with.

Actually, he is related to Eric Garner… another uncooperative guy… or at least was.

No-knock warrant? Always a pleasure when someone shoots back and kills a couple pigs who should have been doing real police work instead of playing Rambo.

Traffic stop? That is real police work and cooperation is quick and easy.

No pity for this army guy.

There’s even a Chris Rock video about this.

Copping an attitude to the po-po doesn’t fly in MAGA country.

…or in red cities… or in blue cities… or in the hood… or pretty much anywhere.

You know why?

Because normal people cooperate with things like getting out of the car in a public place with all sorts of video around.

You know who doesn’t? Criminals… sometimes with guns.

Oh… I bet nobody saw the full story, which was buried in the few articles that even mentioned it.

This army guy didn’t pull over immediately and continued to drive. That’s why the cops had their guns out and were (rightfully) yelling to get out of the car.

Now I can understand if he drove to a well-lit public place because the media has him convinced all the Klansman Kops are shooting black people when nobody is looking.

And if you do that, amazingly, the cops will understand. But you need to put them at ease first. You need to be extra cooperative until things get sorted.

This would have been easy.

“Sir, I need to see your hands at all times. Now I need you to step out of the vehicle and lie face down on the ground with your hands spread out. Let’s do this slowly and carefully. If you make any sudden movements or I feel endangered by your actions I will shoot you. If you refuse to get out of the vehicle I will pepper spray the interior until you must get out. Now will you get out of the vehicle?”

Then I would “drop” my body cam and beat the hell out of him while yelling “Stop resisting! Stop resisting!”

And while they loaded him in the ambulance, I’d hiss in his ear, “This is MAGA country where people like you get Rittenhoused.”

And then I’d pour bleach on him and make a noose from his IV line.

And then I’d search his car for Subway and something to civilly forfeit.

Yes, another fine day of police work, Lou.

Chickenhead, I see that it’s the fault of both sides. The driver refusing to obey the police command to get out of the car is a problem, yes. But the police unnecessarily escalated a routine traffic violation. Both sides are at fault because both sides had bigger egos than each other.
Therefore both sides refused to stand down, which escalated a situation that potentially could have ended up violent – all very unnecessary. I can see why America is so violent and why crime is so high. The country has a system that quickly turns mundane ordinary routine life situations into out-of-control violent situations – all because of over-pride and egos. This is also true at the US national foreign policy level where the US’s first option is always to use a club and go to war to kill a small bug.

Here’s another situation that perfectly describes what I’m saying.

Korean man, one aspect that is missing from the context of these interactions…they usually don’t occur out of the blue for no reason. Often a member of the community has called the police and this “random” questioning is not as random as it seems. One very notorious shooting of a “child carrying a toy gun” happened at a park after several (black) mothers called the police about a boy with a gun. It looked very much like a real gun. They asked him to put it down and instead he pointed it at them.

Korea Man, you do have a point.

Cops demand 100% immediate compliance… and they will quickly resort to force if they don’t get it… hence this traffic stop started with guns drawn and yelling.

Mixed feelings about that… but they may not be wrong in most cases… including this one. They should be in control of the situation. We can get on the YouTubes and find plenty of examples of the same style traffic stop where the cop didnt get in control of the situation and it ended poorly for the cop.

Unlike what the media would have you believe, statistics are kept and cops with too many complaints or too much violence stand out.
Chiefs and sheriffs and mayors don’t like that at all.

In this case, it is the civilian’s responsibility to put his ego away. Not stopping for the cops is his first sin and it was amplified by refusing to get out of the car and trying to… what? Negotiate?

Shut the fùck up and get out of the car you dìckwad.

And leave that obvious chip on your shoulder elsewhere… the one that has been causing you problems your entire life which you blamed on racism… or the other guy… or everything but your own attitudes and behaviors.

Just slowly get out of the car and humbly explain why you didn’t stop. They don’t trust you now so you are going to be wearing cuffs until this is sorted out. Accept that.

Generally speaking, my policy is to immediately comply. At this time, cops are not torturing people for bribes or beating up the cooperative for kicks. If there is a mistake it will be resolved… probably with an apology. If not, the court system is pretty honest at the level of any of these police interactions.

In reality, the army guy’s entire demeanor, attitude, and speaking had me rooting for more mace.

When my spouse was a young punk (and I married him when he was a young punk), people called the police on him pretty randomly and seemingly arbitrarily. Because of the way he dressed. Once we were taking different cars down to his parents’ home (Miami) and we both stopped for gas. I left, thinking he was behind me but after a while I couldn’t figure out where he was. I went to his home and it took an hour or so for him to arrive (no cell phones then). The gas station attendant had called the police and said he left without paying for gas. He’d paid, but ripped up the receipt right away and thrown it in the garbage. So they made him root around in the garbage to find the receipt to prove he paid.
This hasn’t happened since he got in the military. Cut his hair, wore a uniform (and dresses generally less like a punk).

Just one example why cops in the US usually err on the side of caution. It’s better to control the situation than to end up like this:

GM in final stages to build yet another South Korean auto-battery plant in the US

https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/tech/2021/12/133_320389.html

At this point, Americans should realize how much South Korea is contributing to its economy. Shouldn’t this mean the US should stop its biased policies always favoring Japan (over South Korea) which is increasingly becoming useless as an economic and technological benefit to the US? How about giving South Korea, the same treatment as Japan for a change? The US can start by giving South Korea the unlimited currency swap line, as the US gave Japan in the 1980s which gives Japan the unlimited freedom to create and print their own money out of thin air.

That information might’ve been important back when the concept of evidence based practice was important. That ship sailed months ago. Along with the concept of informed consent.
