O Yeong-su of “Squid Game” Fame Wins Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor

Unfortunately Mr. O was not able to accept the award in person because there was no Golden Globes award ceremony this year because the HFPA that puts on the event is now considered racist:

O Yeong-su has won best TV supporting actor at this year’s Golden Globe Awards for his role in “Squid Game,” becoming the first South Korean actor ever to secure an acting trophy at the American awards show.

In the winners list of the annual awards event thrown by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) on Sunday (U.S. time), the 77-year-old actor won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role on TV for his role in the Netflix original series.

So how did only South Korea, out of all the countries in Asia, get such international acclamations? Because unlike much bigger China and Japan who have 40 times South Korea’s population, South Korea isn’t afraid to out the dirty laundry, to show the dirty seedy sides of its society. China and Japan are heavily controlled by their governments and their populations will never accept any negative portrayals of their countries, especially through mediums like Netflix that are viewed by the whole world. Ironically the performing arts have flourished under the very same left-leaning South Korean governments that are often painted as commie governments.
