Russia is an important economic partner and friend in the region for South Korea. There are many large economic projects planned for the Siberian far east, including bringing the natural gas pipeline. The relations between the two countries have been solid for a number of years now. For years and years, Russia has been trying so hard to convince South Korea to invest in the region. Recently, there have been breakthroughs and agreements, including South Korean investment in the Kurile Islands. South Korea had been reluctant to invest in that area due to Russia and Japan disputing over those islands. But since Japan has been looking down on South Korea and has been trying to isolate South Korea internationally while treating it as an enemy, there’s no holding back South Korea now. But it’s imperative for Moon to convince Putin, not to invade Ukraine which would invite NATO and US sanctions on Russia. The sanctions on Russia will pretty much snuff out South Korea’s investment plans in Russia.
What part of Putin being a KGB thug, little different from Xi or Kim Fatty III, escapes y’all?

Putin’s behavior?
Is Putin prepared to lose 50-100 tanks?
In the 40 days of the Nagorno-Karabakh War the Turkish built TB2 drone eliminated 90 T-72 tanks.
Ukraine has 30-50 TB2s.
The TB2 also eliminated 22 SAM systems, 6 radar systems, 60 multiple rocket launchers, 36 other armored vehicles and 186 non-armored vehicles.
Putin wants Mariupol.
Everything else is Sideshow Bob.

They’re miffed that Russia isn’t the USSR anymore. Not that Putin isn’t every bit as objectionable from a purely American perspective; but he’s not the commie they wanted…
