Anyone up for creating a top five events/festivals/tourist attractions per month in Korea?

Remember Donald Trump meeting with China’s Xi Jin Ping in 2018 when Trump and Xi emerged together and agreed that Korea had once belonged to China?
Here’s a good read, about how the US is not helping South Korea to defend its self-determination and sovereignty against China’s attempts to undermine them.
Guys, could you explain what’s happening with your daughters and your granddaughters in America? I never dreamed I would see something like this over a Korean pop group one day.
Because Shanghai is the financial center of China and the finances of China is about to have a meltdown… think Evergrand and keep going.
So when the ching hits the chong, they don’t want people in the streets. They want authority at the ready.
Probably an attack on Taiwan will be their best response.
Biden has his head up his ass.
Military “leadership” is more worried how many trannys fit on the head of a pin.
Nobody will do anything except promise Taiwan more weapons. Taxpayers will pay for them. They will sit on a dock and never be delivered.

Korea was once a part of the Chinese system. That doesn’t mean Korea should go back to such an arrangement. China was and still is an imperial system. Being able to acknowledge historical truths is not a danger. Rather denial of facts loses ground and thus legitimacy because having to lie to justify a position is generally not viewed well.
Americans freely admit the colonies were once part of the British Empire. That does not undermine American sovereignty, but reinforced the narrative of freedom and independence. If Korean sovereignty is based on a lie that Korea was always independent from China, then you get undermined if it can be proven that it was. Acknowledging the past is not a refutation of the present.
You appear to have an axe to grind pertaining America so I must wonder if you are from Jeolla

I know someone with family in China. He says the biggest problem right now in Shanghai is water. You can’t drink the tap anywhere in China. At first the grocery stores were open, then they shut and you could order food from an app, then the app crashed and now the government is delivering food. 25,000 PLA regulars plus the Shanghai Garrison are deployed in the streets. 25 million people in lockdown. Daily covid testing.

Everybody, including politicians, know “zero covid” is pure fantasy… an impossible dream without eternal isolation of everyone on a global scale.
And everybody knows the effects of lockdowns are far, far worse than letting everyone catch a cold that kills off a small percentage of the old and sick but does nothing to everyone else.
So… everyone knows lockdowns are not about covid at all.
Everyone knows this.
A soldier for every 1000 civilians in Shanghai is not there because of covid. They are there because of a great fear in the Chinese government that disorder will start in Shanghai.
The Chinese have a good idea about what is coming.

But CH, surely the Chinese Communist Party is just looking out for the welfare of the People…
… as they define that term…
Which is how every other rogue bureaucracy operates. Even in America. Like HOAs in some areas.
But this week we have other fish to fry, so to speak.
This week is the observance of the greatest gift anyone ever gave.
Please don’t let the devil steal your opportunity to think about how Jesus died to cancel the sin debt for all who simply believe…
Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 8:1, 10:9-10, and 10:13 are worth looking up. It’s all about just believing His promise.
Won’t you do that today?
Right here, right now?
What have you to lose but your sin?

Okay CH (and/or any other engineering inclined people here),
what say you?
This may be a simplified understanding without the right terms. Don’t show it to your husband.
I believe lift is the important issue. That lift is generated by the speed difference between air and wings. (Not the actual speed which is why high-lift planes can hover (or fly backwards) when flying against the wind).
Once it becomes airborne, however, it will fly like an airplane that lost its engines… meaning drag will slow it down until it falls back onto the conveyer belt.
One could make an argument that it would never really get airborne if there were no control surfaces… as the speed threashold to get it into the air would immediately be reduced below that as soon as it lost the thrust of the conveyer belt.
What I would expect to see is it bouncing down the conveyer belt as it lifts and stalls while the test pilot tries to coax some extended lift at a slower speed.
It would do this down to the end of the runway where it would be deposited at takeoff speed into a pile of wreckage that, fortunately, would not burn because there would be no fuel or engines involved.
The engineers who came up with this idea would put their hands on the back of their necks and make hissing noises.
Burning another jet loaded with fuel at the end of the conveyer belt might give enough lift from an updraft to send the jet through the fence and into the residential area beyond the airport.
Filling it full of Disney management might Save the Children… the burning plane, that is.
The other plane will need to be empty so the clean-up crew has less work to do.

A short answer IRT, Liz & CH above. Air-speed over the wings causes lift. Ground-speed is irrelevant.
@Liz, in spite of the 4 massive engines, it’s air moving past the wings that provide the lift. A 747 not moving is a nice place to sit (in 1st or Business Classes); but no, not capable of flight. That’s for sure.
HOWEVER, as that’s just what a white supremacist, Putin-controlled ‘bot would say, I’ll let my betters chime in with the right answer(s).

The “lockdown” in Shanghai is not about covid.
China is invading China.
Why?
Because Shanghai is the financial center of China and the finances of China is about to have a meltdown… think Evergrand and keep going.

Word on the street is:
Starting friday:
– no business curfew
– no group limits
– no outdoor masks
So we get a little fun and prosperity before some new horror is released on us indirectly by government and then mismanaged directly by government.
Did the Ukrainians actually sink the Russian Black Seas Fleet’s flagship?
Wow. For an inderdog, they seem to be holding their own quite well.
