It must be pretty bad that Kim Jong-un has actually come out and made such a statement. We will see how well a largely malnourished population with minimal health care options is able to handle a COVID outbreak:
North Korea on Saturday reported 21 additional COVID-19 deaths, with more than 174,400 people nationwide feverish, as its leader Kim Jong-un stated that his country is faced with “great turmoil” due to the spread of the virus.
Pyongyang’s state media released the updated tally compiled the previous day, after Kim presided over an early-morning politburo meeting to review the nation’s “maximum emergency” antivirus system in place.
Mainly discussed in the session were ways for the swift supply and distribution of emergency medical supplies, according to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
He was briefed on the current situation from the state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters and described it as “great turmoil since the country’s founding,” it reported.
He urged relevant authorities to learn from the “successful” coronavirus control measures of other countries, including China.
A total of around 524,440 people in North Korea have shown symptoms of fevers between late April and May 13, the KCNA added. Among them, 243,630 have been completely cured, with roughly 280,810 being treated.

Unless Kim III is trying to treat some white horses … Ivermectin is effectively useless.
Stephen, I just read your paper and I have read all the ones touted by the media.
My observation is that the famous ivermectin/HQC studies were designed to fail… sometimes in a spectacular way… such as giving lethal doses to clearly terminal patients.
This study was also designed to fail.
Ivermectin is not a random choice to fight covid. It has properties that make it likely to have a positive effect.
But it will not work if you just give patients Ivermectin after they have had symptoms for 7 days.
It must be given early in the infection before covid establishes itself and must be given in conjunction with other drugs. This is common knowledge to anybody paying attention to Ivermectin and these doctors knew there would likely be no effect before the study was started.
Further, “one day” of ivermectin “treatment” such as “use for parasitic infection” is a joke treatment designed to fail. Even increasing it to three days is a joke treatment designed to fail.
This study was designed in every way to fail and show ivermectin doesn’t work.
I don’t know if Ivermectin works beyond the theoretical possibility… but when HIGHLY biased studies touted as settled science are coupled with the financial and political incentive to bury a cheap generic treatment in favor of expensive alternatives, I suspect the theory is correct.
But I appreciate you spreading this fake news… as there are only people who seek to be truly informed and those who need another booster.
Stephen should probably try to get 2 or 3 boosters now before the prices go up.
