I find myself strangely repelled and fascinated. I might have to try making this, but I need to see whether it starts with legitimate carbonara. What gets called “carbonara” in Korea is a horrific mutation of the original Italian recipe.

I strenuously object to asshats calling themselves “diaspora” just because they or their parents don’t live in the country they claim to be a part of. Sorry, that dog don’t hunt.
A diaspora is not voluntary. Those who, like Ms. Shim, use it as a fashion accessory, are making light of human tragedy and claiming some sort of undeserved victim-hood. I’m appalled that she was linked here.
Detestable.
Should I consider myself part of a “diaspora” because I moved to a different state to obtain a job?
Ridiculous.

As a (half) Italian who loves Korean food, I’m going to give this a hard pass.
